I remember sitting at the WSU game in 2013 (sweltering evening) and I said, "Great job, we can make a bowl."

AU kind of had some sluggish offensive production. Won some close ones, lost to LSU and then found a rhythm.

This defense is light years ahead of 2013. If we can fix the issues and find an offensive identity, this could be a great team.

War Eagle!

I hope it starts this weekend. We will know in the next 3 games whether this is 7-5 or better. I am trying to be positive.

I recently had the same thought. We seem to forget the retarded shite Gus was doing in early 2013. Tried to make Nick Marshall a passer. Playing Kyle Frazier at Wildcat qb against Moo St. Throwing so much in the heavy see of LSU.

It was game 5 against Ole Miss he found the zone read. 4 game Gus can find his groove this weekend then unleash against Moo St at home.

Jay Tate and Bryan Matthews were even talking, on today’s podcast, about how it’s so weird that it takes Gus multiple games to figure out the identity of his offense, whereas other staffs are able to figure it out before the season.

He didn’t know what he had in Cam Newton nor Nick Marshall until a few games in. That’s what you get when you don’t go live with quarterbacks while doing 1-on-1’s at practice.

If this were a new thing for us I would maybe have confidence in it happening but it's going on year 3 of the exact same issues.

Ok. I agree we have been stuck in neutral since JJ did not perform as expected and The Artist was too small to play in SEC.

I just have to hope that Stidham will get better over the next several weeks and that Gus will figure out what this offense can do best.

This defense is very good. Even the most negatiger has to admit that this group of defenders is top shelf.

Who actually does this?

Live QB isn’t as common but 1 vs 1 is common at regular top teams.

I just want to see improved cohesion of the entire offensive unit especially the offensive line.

Any chance Bell moves to guard and Smith to tackle and Prince to the bench?

Saban is the same way. He usually takes 2-3 games to identify a QB. He just has the luxury of an elite D two deep.

I wouldn't be so quick to pull Prince Tega. I think the kid will continue to improve and be a huge asset this year and seasons to come. Wilson Bell was benched at FSU last year for a reason. That oline was horrible and got Francois beat up all season. I would be careful wishing for him...

While there might have been some bizarre stuff in early 2013, I long for the return of a TE making a meaningful catch in a game ala the Miss State game...

Let's believe!

Why not?

I think AU will beat Missouri.

I'm ok with Tega as long as he gets better. I think we have good depth inside on off line.

Me too. But since the 2013 season, every week feels like the Auburn football version of Deal Or No Deal..."do you want to keep your current ranking and walk away, or do you want to keep going and risk plummeting out of the Top 25?"
