Let me start off by saying, I think Pate is an idiot. But he did say something that is probably very true. Auburn desperately needs upgraded facilities to keep up in recruiting. The big money guys hated Gus, and they weren't coming off the wallets as long as he stayed.

He basically thinks Auburn should be happy just winning 8 games a year. He has no respect for Auburn.

I agree but you’re talking about $100 million at minimum on the stadium. The AD has been very shy about committing to a long term renovation because we are over leveraged right now IMO. We’d have to raise ticket prices to compensate and we already have some of the highest in the country

I've never heard him say this explicitly. He repeatedly says Auburn is the hardest job in America, which I agree with.
He lost me this preseason when he called the new schedule fair. That was a joke.
