Lol the dude has been riddled with injuries. Makes complete sense for him to go if he’s graded draftable. If Neiko Thorpe caught on for a while he can haha

Walter Football has him as the #16 CB, 3-4 round.

I've seen a couple of other places has him as a 2nd rounder to the 49ers.

Yeah. Who wants a 6'2 corner who can also play special teams?

Somehow another team can convince top ten picks to come back. We have guys that leave for the draft that don’t even give a damn about their draft grade. Early entry third round picks have the opportunity to make first round money next year. So dumb

I'm guessing people just haven't been keeping up but he's been projected mid round in the draft for a while now. He's battled multiple injuries so the fact that he's still projected that high should tell you something. Also for a CB you won't find many bigger than him. This is why getting a good DB class was important this year.

I'm happy for Dean.. He's earned every bit of it.

Not really. UGA has players staying right now for championship hopes. I dont think anyone believe Auburn has a chance at a championship next year. He is a big corner and will get drafted. Makes sense for him to go.

He will get drafted for much less compared to what he could be paid if possibly went first round next year. He wasn’t even all that good. Constantly getting burnt. He needs a big signing bonus.

Somewhat related but I hope Jarrett Stidham gets drafted and kills it in the NFL. I know a lot of fans don’t like him but it’s great for recruiting.

He will be drafted. Would one more year help him? OSU almost ruined the kid and he almost lost football. Do not blame him one bit. Gave his all for Auburn. War Eagle, Jamel!

I’d like it. Will be interested in hearing about his draft interviews. If his interview goes like “I feel like I’m a top five QB that really didn’t get the chance to refine my passing skills while at Auburn and Baylor,” I think the scouts will love it and won’t help Auburn any. The scouts are going to be drafting Stidham based on potential and that is what they want to hear.

This is such an over-exaggeration. There are guys who aren't draft eligible this year, who WILL be draft eligible next year, that are better than him and will go higher regardless of what he does. The logic that "he's 3rd round this year, that means he'll go 1st round next year" is oversimplified fantasy. Is it possible? Yes, however its also far more probable that he doesn't budge his stock at all, or even hurts it. Its also probable that a guy with a million injuries like Dean gets hurt again.

By the way; Dean's size is a positive AND a negative, which is why his his relative "draft upside" is LIMITED. He gets burned because he is so abnormally large that it naturally limits his hips, and while he's fairly fast for a guy his size, there will always be corners smaller than him who will be faster. He is stiffer than a typical corner, and again, that is the trade-off you take with size. None of this is going to magically change by him coming back to play another season of college football. He is still going to have the same physical strengths...AND LIMITATIONS.

Initial thoughts are to move Javarius Davis back to corner with Noah.

Davis played well at corner last year and looked like shite at times this year in nickel.

Competition will be good for that cb spot this spring.

The king of CFB believes as I do. Do notice though that my logic didn’t include: “he’s a third round pick this year, therefore he must be first round pick next year.”

On the other hand his three knee injuries were before he arrived at Auburn. Another upright year in the books may have shown that his knee shouldn’t be considered an immediate concern and as much a red flag.

I have seen this as well. Hopefully he can make that third round contract stretch throughout his career.

If he goes in the second round I'll be shocked, even if he goes in the third I'll be very surprised.

I wish the guy all the best and hope he becomes the next Deion Sanders I just don't think he's ready to make the jump.

Good for dean. I hope he does well in the league but I just don’t quite see it. Hope he does get drafted as high as possible though.

We should be “ok” with Noah and Davis at corners. Hopefully they get some good off season coaching and stop this pass int tackle the wr bullshite we saw all season long
