I personally wanted Gatewood for a number of reasons, one of which is that I think he is going to transfer because Bo is a true freshman.
I wanted Gatewood to win because he has matured a ton, put in work, has the frame to take the hits, and I really wanted us to run the power read game to set up deep shots down the field. Maybe it's just nostalgia from 2010 but I loved that offense and abusing teams between the tackles with outside pitches and sweeps interwoven.
Now that I think about it I think Gus needs to go fast, run the read option, utilize speed at every position on the offense and open up the box. Nix has a really quick release so we might finally start getting some more intermediate throws so DBs can stop sitting on screens or deep balls.

Based on what he said about his pops bringing in 2013 Auburn Offense concepts, maybe we can expect some of that with a bit more emphasis on the passing game.

Gatewood hasn't ever been a starter. He might as well accept his fate and destroy the SEC as our wildcat QB for 4 years!
