Per Keith both AU & Miami staffs are confident on 4* S Kamren Kinchens. He's planning to commit July 11th.

interesting... he has a very impressive offer list to be a borderline 4*

D. Davis must have had a rough week at the Elite 11. I haven’t seen him mentioned in any of the articles I’ve read. As long as he can run well enough to be a weapon and has a decent enough arm to hit a guy running free then I’m good with it

He isnt a true passer. I think that is good for us. We need old Gus.

Barton Simmons said it well: “Davis needs pads”.

He may not be a true passer, but he better be a 'good' passer.
I don't want another QB like Kodi Burns or Kiehl Frazier.
If he is not accurate, that is a problem.
If he doesn't learn to read defenses, that is a problem.
If he doesn't look to complete a pass downfield, but chooses to run out of the pocket most of the time, that is a problem.
But if he is the type of QB that just knows how to make something happen in both the passing and running game, then we may have a winner....time will tell.

He didn't do that bad.. In the pro day comp on day 2 he said he got a 31. That's 3 pts(or 1 completion) away from trying Caleb Williams, who won the MVP, and another player for 9th. I don't remember his time on day 3, but in an interview he admitted they did a lot of stuff he's never practiced before, like being under center. I know he was working with a QB coach before he went to the Elite 11 camp.. I have to wonder why he didn't have him prepared for the competition.

I think that was the first time he’s actually worked with a QB coach. It at least I think I heard that on a podcast.
I would bet that NM would suck in a similar format so I’m not really worried. Would have been nice to hear that he paints with his balls like White Cam.

Elite 11 was still run by Dilfer and Whitfield this year.. I had to sit through Dilfers horrible speech while he gifted Williams the MVP. Unless you mean actually running the drills, in which case I'm not sure if I saw Dilfer out there or not but Whitfield was.

We know he’s short but since he’s not a pro style pocket guy I don’t think we care
Which is good.

Shortest height, tallest hair. The kid with the blonde Jew fro does give him a run for his money though.

I understand what you're saying, but he's still going to have to throw from the 'pocket', so we do care he can be successful throwing from the pocket. Not every pass play can be a roll-out.
He's going to have to be a Fran Tarkenton type of thrower(Now I am really dating myself).
Maybe I should have said Russell Wilson type......

Point being he’s not a one trick pony. So if he’s going to be a pocket passer (like Sean White, infamous for the height debate on this board) then we tend to nitpick quite a bit more on height, weight, arm slot, etc
We’re just collectively traumatized by pocket passers, basically
