Not de-railing this thread, but just putting in my $.02. Thread has been perfectly civil so far. Feel free to anchor it if it becomes not civil.

Apparently UGA views Tennessee as its biggest competition for Smael Mondon.
Goes back to what I was saying when we ramped things up with Jackson late. They know we’re way behind for Mondon. No way they go all-in on Jackson there after Carter commits to Clemson
I’m only glad this debacle is happening in a year we need 1 at the position.

Hard not to see Bo Nix when you watch Ty Simpson’s highlights.
Also looks like he plays some Safety

For someone that young and that small to sling the ball 50+ yards with relative ease is amazing to me.

Auburn lands Bowling Green transfer QB Grant Loy
quote:
Auburn has added some much-needed depth to its quarterback room.
Grant Loy, formerly of Bowling Green, announced via Twitter on Wednesday he has committed to the Tigers as a graduate transfer. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Auburn Undercover can confirm the Tigers have accepted his commitment.
quote:
Last year, Loy played in 12 games and made seven starts. He led Bowling Green with 115 pass completions on 204 attempts, 1,137 passing yards and six passing touchdowns with 11 interceptions -- and finished third on the team with 100 carries for 427 yards and tied for a team-high with four rushing touchdowns.
With Loy, Auburn will have four scholarship quarterbacks for 2020 -- Loy, returning starter Bo Nix, Cord Sandberg and true freshman Chayil Garnett. Peferred walk-on transfer Caylin Newton, who played quarterback at Howard for two seasons, will work at quarterback and other positions.
Loy, listed at 6-feet-5, 223 pounds, is a native of Ohio.
Loy's 2019 highlights included being named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week after completing 14 of 21 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 137 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries in a win over Toledo. Against Ohio, he passed for a career-high 250 yards with one touchdown.

Still trying to find out if it's a scholly or walk on spot.

Could probably do some goal line stuff with his size and decent athleticism

It was our last scholarship. Curious as to what happens with out punter situation now.

quote:Missed that. If my understanding of the NCAA rules are correct if AU permanently kicked Shef off the team for breaking rules/disciplinary reasons as a couple AU insiders said would happen then that would open up a spot to add a 28th scholly player this year (Loy) since Shef was still a freshman.

I can't remember what the thread was, but I think (not positive) KN said we had 1 spot left open and he was waiting to hear something about what we we're doing at P... It was close to a week ago if not longer, so probably impossible to find lol.
I don't see why they would kick Sheffield off the team.. Those we're minor charges.. I think one was a disorderly conduct and those are almost always BS.

quote:Didn't know about that. Dumb thing to do, but I still hope we don't kick him off. He's still only a freshman... suspend him for a long time and make him earn his way back.

Any clue what we're doing at P then? Just going with Evan McGuire?... And speak of him, I couldn't remember his name so I looked at all of the new players on Auburns website and everyone was listed, including Domio, except McGuire.

I thought the opposite, but what do I know.
