If we are throwing out preferred walk-ons I wish we would throw one Sean Jackson’s way. He may not have the measurables or the top end speed but you won’t find a better kid or competitor. At a minimum hes G5 scholarship quality. You also wouldn’t have to worry about him being physical enough in practice. Armoni Goodwin’s backup this year. Gonna be a steal for some program.

legit question

I know Gus being fired hurt us and the past few years have hurt us but not sure the last time our class was this low.

I feel like COVID recruiting restrictions really hurt us. I know every school could say that, but every year we have mildly interested recruits that visit and fall in love with our campus and atmosphere. It’s something that can only be experienced in person, so hopefully this next cycle will be less restrictive.

True dat and like you said same for elsewhere.

(and to ire Jones...with shite in his cruiting thread)

However the top kids are also smarter from just being more internet exposed. They network more on their own, it's ceratinly easier to get opinions from across the nation, and they probably form bias based on group think. Plus everyone reads recruiting news and not just major publications. The season will take care of a lot of issues, if not by winning, then by exposing holes. As will a more traditional approach of signing linemen...ie: seeing a strong foundation. And maybe there's a bigger playbook that includes more Jimmy and Joe's. Instead of a system consisting of only the top dozen on both sides of the ball... the chosen few. (oops - old hate mode)

Personally I'm enjoying recruiting more this year than usual. Are the results better? No. However as a fan I'm liking the unknowns of not knowing the staff or system, and not really having an opinion of what this team will consist of... and maybe it's just because there's still so much being done. When usually a football season's mostly over about now... and we're talk about the same concerning much less.

(ok... back to recruiting)

Signing a LS when you have a 25 limit is a very bad sign for the health of a program.

When you can sign a Dax Dellenbach you just do it.

We’ve had a coach that everyone has expected to get fired for 2 years. He got fired right before early signing day. It took about another 5 weeks to get a coach and a staff filled out. Bitching about this class is just stupid

Despite all that we got a top JUCO LB and a 4* OT. We can build some solid depth, any transfer portal news?

Because we need it? Seems pretty obvious when you look at our depth.

I was asking if Harsin is signing a LS. Not the reasoning behind it.

Not complaining about the class more of just curious as to why. I assumed it was the coaching change, poor performance the last few years, and not having a coach when most kids signed. I think our staff will do great in the coming years, a little surprised more kids didnt jump in to play for CBH but that is probably due to early signing period.

I think ESP should have been pushed back until games were completed this year, I know that really hurt us as kids dont want to wait and risk losing scholarships elsewhere.

I think this is all great discussion.

With campus visits not happening it’s important to understand that these kids are more proportionally committing to coaches than the school. When the coaches leave they don’t have much else to hang on to.

Nobody hurts more during COVID than the schools that don’t have the state name attached to them.

So you're saying we're fricked this year when we play Alabama State?

I think in some cases that’s true.

We have another Holden on the board for 2022:

4* TE Holden Staes

Current PSU commit but the TE coach just left for the Jags. KN says he likes Auburn a lot

Their halftime performance will be more memorable than the game.

A&M just got 2 CBs for Jordan Moko. Its not a done deal yet, and he might wait to sign.. Still the odds are against us for this one.
