MAR isn't coming back to AU

Maybe that's true but I have no clue. I always thought he should have been a safety anyway and I'm an offensive guy.

Was just pointing out if MAR is indeed gone then we need another back. High school or transfer.

We can probably scratch Harvard OL transfer Eric Wilson off the list. Said he talked to Harsin on the 26th. He might consider Auburn once he meets the OL coach but said he largely committed to Auburn because of Gus and Bicknell

That doesn't make me feel positively about him and his decision making.

Harvard isn’t the institution it used to be.

I said at the beginning of the season, if he did not get some decent touches with the 1st string he would be gone.

I still hold out hope now that we have a new coach. Tank is good sure, but several SEC programs have shown you can have two or even three backs get sufficient touches. In fact its even a positive because they are not worn out by the time the draft comes around.

Surely Harsbin can relate the fact that we are one injured knee from Shivers being our featured back, seriously, in the SEC, come on man (sorry didnt mean to throw in some poliboard).

IIRC, Shivers has already said he will be transferring.

We seem to be all in on Brooks.

Were their some comments about the fact he had put on weight and it really had slowed him dowm?

I saw those comments and thought of big cat, he put on that 25 lbs after his freshman year and the rest of his career he was too slow to speed rush and not strong enough to fend off blocks at the line.

Now Wooden, on the other hand, those extra pounds have made him a beast.

Yes. He’s not the pass rusher we thought he’d be when he was a sophomore but he’s still an elite DL prospect at either strongside or inside

Don’t mistake my concern about him being an elite pass rusher for being an elite DL. I think he’s more than capable of the latter. He’s giving Auburn every chance to sign him. I really hope he does

Dewberry is a loooong shot. Auburn was in top 5-10 for a ton of top OL in this current class. It didn’t mean anything. Landen King’s connection makes this slightly more interesting than any of the others but not by much

I love how Gus backed into one 1st round DL and thought afterwards he could be selective.

He signed. Hunter/Brooks could have been a deadly inside combo. Hopefully Harsin tells Garner to pound sand.

I know we like to blame Gus on this board but I don’t think DL recruiting is on him

What a fricking lazy arse year by Garner. Got Hunter who has been locked in regardless and then Robinson but has completely whiffed on any pass rushers for the last 5 years.

We lost 3 NFL DL last year. It happens. We were young this year and Big Kat never developed. We had Covid and preseason injuries to some of the young guys. Miller went psycho in preseason practice justified or not but can't have players trying to fight coaches or whatever happened. DL will be fine. Obviously we need to close with some players any DE either weakside or strongside would round out another solid DL class.

I honestly think the biggest problem, across the board this year with recruiting, was the uncertainty of the program and the staff. Covid, no campus visits, all of that hurt but the likelihood of a staff getting canned is extremely crippling

Looking forward to that not being an issue for a few years
