My thought is this year is a done deal with big dawgs unless we win out with solid play. Hopefully not

The offense and defense stabilizing the rest of the season would do wonders

Kirby is holed up on the Rock of Gibraltar compared to the ground Gus is standing on.

Seeing Kirby lose is as satisfying as AU winning a game outside the SEC big six.

Tennessee lost to Arkansas. That’s 4 straight and the rest of their schedule is pretty tough still

Some thoughts by KN on Brooks and Roc Taylor

On Brooks — Auburn continues to recruit him but KN isn’t sure he’s at the top of their board anymore. He’s well over 250lbs and just isn’t a pass rusher anymore. KN doesn’t think he’s a Buck at all. Just something to keep in mind

Does sound like Taylor is keeping an open mind to Auburn still. KN will have more this week

Per KN, doesn’t sound like Taylor and the coaching staff have talked much in the last few weeks.

Yeah I'm not upset about the Taylor news at all. I've said for while now that I just don't think he's fast enough to play WR.

I would still take Brooks though, just as a DE instead of a buck. I don't think he's a 5* player or will ever be a superstar, but he would be good depth.

I like Taylor. It’s hard to know how receivers will translate to next levels with the exception of generational type talents.

Agreed with Brooks. Definitely want him still even if he’s not the pass rusher we need

I'm confused with recruiting this year and how is players staying an extra year going to affect the numbers we can sign. Or is there an exception for 1 year to go over the 85 limit.

I’m not quite sure, Corch.

I think he talented for sure, but I just don't think he's fast enough to get separation in the SEC. He keeps gaining weight too.. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up as a TE at some point. He reminds me of Marcus McClain.

That’s fair. I liked McClain too for what it’s worth

I’m probably not the best evaluator of that position. Though, I did think Capers was our most ready-to-play freshman and that seems like a good call. Not that I was going out on a huge limb there

I liked McClain too, but he could never crack the line up. I was interested in following him this year before their season got cancelled. I think he could do really well on that level though.

Auburn is recruiting 3* S Dontae Balfour really hard. Staff has compared him to Smoke Monday. Offers from Ole Miss and South Carolina, KN says he is close to putting a CB in for him.

As a note, this isn’t a kid I expect to blow up. There’s a couple of others that will likely be 4*s (Hal Pressley, Trevin Wallace). I think this guy isn’t quite on that level but the physical tools are all there.

KN & 247 have identified 3*/4* DE George Wilson (USCe commit) as a flip candidate if Muschamp is canned. Staff is talking to him often. They haven’t offered yet but could if they feel like he would flip

He’s definitely a Buck.

Auburn also offered unranked JUCO LB Byron Young of Georgia Military College. Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU have also offered. He’s another option at Buck
