I would like TJF to get 1/3 of all practice snaps with the ones, starting today.

He has a role to play. He is "a play away" and personally I have liked everything I have seen from him, including leadership and rapport with basically everyone from what I have heard. A team player.

That is very well what it might to take to beat Bama. Or thuga. Or.....anyone and everyone else. This takes NOTHING away from Bo. Hopefully adds something. We will need "something" to.....fricking Rocky....go 13-2 'ship.

War Eagle. We are close to being either really solid, like surprisingly solid to a lot of people to a mid-tier SEC West team. Personally, I like our chances and our trajectory. We will make some noise and could do quite a bit more. This has already been an unprecedented year in college football. I love it.

ETA - as to "unprecedented" / post 2020 and the pandemic, I am using field rushings as assassment criteria, and I have no idea how many there have actually been, SO FAR, but I would wager that this year will see the most field rushings ever post-game. I love it. Stay safe and enjoy and use your good manners. Memories of a lifetime.

Negative. What if Harsin/Bobo already have determined that he’s probably not “the Guy” next year? No reason to commit that many resources (playing time) when we (a) still control our destiny to some degree and (b) we have the transfer portal to get someone better next year.

If AU performs decently on the back half of this season, Harsin can snag another QB. They’ll probably even be a short line.

Fair enough, but I personally don't want to this season to be a replay of Sean White playing hurt when he should not have been and we had no answer. I hope most of us have decent memories.

I wasn't really talking about next season at all. Only this season, for now, for today. One of my main points was that if we are going to the 'ship, or higher than our trajectory has us as of now, TJF has a role to play. I chose 1/3 because 3 is the magic number. No more, no less.

ETA - Football is a team sport. It takes a TEAM to win, as I am sure you well know. What is TJF's role then? Can you imagine the shitshow that would be " place your best name here" shiteshow had he not done what he did to rally AU to beat fricking Georgia fricking State?

We need a fricking TEAM to reach our highest goals this season, and every season. I look forward to seeing TJF get his chance if or when needed. I hope his coaches have prepared him well. War Eagle.

ETA to Mike. Please notice I specifically practice snaps with the ones. I said nothing about game snaps, etc. That is a different discussion. Did Boy Scouts and "Be Prepared" not keep you ....nevermind. Not much fun joking about prison or jail. Or so I have heard and imagined. War Eagle.

How about he just gets the standard reps a backup QB gets, because he is the backup QB?

Agree, Harsin has already shown he will have the backup ready and not afraid to change if injured or performance.

I will let the coaches make the call on snap distribution for the QBs. TJ does seem to be a very intelligent guy so mental prep is very important for a backup. And with the younger WRs I’m sure the coaches aren’t telling them to not stay after and work together.

Bookmarked

You must not have read many of my posts. I actually don't post all that often. I have been more active, I guess you could say, on this board this year.

If I have to come back here and tell everyone "See, dumbasses? It takes a fricking TEAM to perform as one and accomplish the most difficult challenges in team sports."

But I won't come back to say I told you so. #1 Because I don't rub shite in people's faces, and #2, because I know you will remember this discussion if you take a few minutes to thoughtfully consider what I am telling you now.

I prefer that they do whatever they did the last week of practice for the rest of the season.

That was the best our offense has looked against a decent opponent in four years.

This acts like Bo doesn’t need the extra practice which despite the good game last week, he definitely does. So not a fan of taking reps away from him.

Granted, Bo could use all the reps he can get. So could TJF.

Given a different / new coaching staff, especially HC and OC, different expectations, responsibility and whatnot.

There is the ONLY 1 QB crowd. If you have two, you have none. There has been dis-proven repeatedly with quality coaching and a cohesive team that buys into what is best for the fricking team. Like quality reps and depth at every position at least concerning the 2-deep..

Is QB a special and unique position? Most certainly. And delicate sometimes.

I am just saying as with virtually all other 21+ positions, to make a run, you need quality depth at every position. I don't know if TJF provides that or not, now (enough reps and experience to do so? I don't know) but I like what he brings to the table, and I don't get the "statue in the pocket" shite. Shall I count the posts blaming Bo for having happy feet and not staying or stepping up in the pocket. Now we have a back up pocket passer, and people complain that he is a statue. TJF is NO frickING STATUE IN THE POCKET. PERIOD. He, also, is a playmaker and baller from what I know and I hope he gets his share of reps in practice and in games. QUALITY DEPTH AT EVERY POSITION. And what position is more crucial than QB and Offense / team leader? But what do I know?

I see and understand both sides. Just playing a little Devils advocate...

ETA I remember a certain 2nd string QB who stepped up when needed. I'll split the credit between him and his coaches. I think his name was something something....Nix. To Sanders.

BS. His job is to hold one end of a bench firmly on the ground to make sure it doesn't float away.

Besides, who died and made you coach? You wanted to bench Bo after Georgia State ....

There is a reason you are not a coach ....get used to it.

What are the examples of this? Don't use Tebow and Leak...Tebow was a glorified Wildcat back that year.

Arguably Spurrier hurt his teams way more than it ever helped with the manner in which he handled QB's.

Bo is clearly better than Finley. So if Bo’s healthy, there’s zero reason to use Finley.

Most likely scenario is Bo stays healthy throughout the year. You don’t prepare for an unlikely scenario when it takes away from your preparation for the more likely scenario.

Besides ..... TJ gets his snaps in with the one's at every practice ...He has to learn the new routes and plays as well.

Unless he has memory freeze and no one knows about it outside of practices.
