By the way, we are 12-15th in the SEC in basically every offensive category through 5 games played. The idea that we have just had "one" bad game is categorically impossible, because otherwise our offensive rankings wouldn't be where they currently are.

I’m judging this team on this season. Period. We were an SEC officiating screw-up away from being 4-0 and ranked in the Top 15 after four weeks. Don’t come here and act like this team didn’t execute well overall as a whole in those first several games. This team has had one performance that was absolutely horrible and worthy of tough criticism.
Im sorry not everyone is willing to go along with your destructive nature of trying to tear down the program. Im willing to give them some more games to fix the issues on the O-line. Sorry you have a problem with that.

What stat that I posted was a lie?
True or False- Did Auburn outgain OU on the ground?
True of False- Did Auburn have more first downs than OU?
True or False- Did Arnold have a better QBR than Mateer in that game?
Don’t accuse me of lying when every stat I posted is correct. Sorry this Auburn team performed in a way that doesn’t fit your narrative of negativity.

We are 3-28 on third downs in SEC play.
We have scored roughly 30 points in the last 10 quarters.
Hugh Freeze has averaged 15 ppg in his losses on the plains.
Stop lying about Texas A&M being a one game abberation.
We are historically inept.

WTF is this crap? You’re only looking at losses to come up with this stat? I’ve got news for you dumbass, most teams have smaller point totals in the games they lost. Even the great coaches. It’s called football.
Secondly, I have zero judgment on Years 1-2. Every serious person knew it would take until Year 3 for Auburn to have a competitive team again. I will judge Freeze for Year 3 and onward, and I think that’s fair considering what a debacle he inherited.
I give this team the following grades:
Baylor: A-
Ball State: A-
S Alabama: C+
Oklahoma: B
Texas A&M: F-
As a whole… probably around a C+. Certainly a lot of work to do.. and they are balancing on the edge of a very bad place…. But that’s not a point to give up on the team and demand the HC be fired. Not when there’s only been one abhorrent game.

We are historically inept.
But we’re not. Not as a whole on the season. Looking at the efficiency metrics through 5 games:
Auburn is #23 in KFord
Auburn is #23 in ESPN FPI
Auburn is #26 in FEI
Auburn is #30 in SP+
Could it be better? Sure. But “historically inept” is an outright lie. An actual one.

What do the conference only metrics say? I know Auburn is shite in offensive efficiency

It says we’ve played on the road at two Top 6 opponents while some teams haven’t even played their first SEC game yet.
Looking at just 2 games and throwing out the others is a stupid way to look at it. These metrics are opponent adjusted so it’s counterproductive to only look at the stats from the small sample of games that fit whatever narrative you are searching for.

You are being disingenuous by pretending that any coach could have done much better in the first two seasons considering the Harsin debacle that had to be overcome
since then, with an additional 24 months to build his roster and install his offense, we have gone 7-12 against FBS teams, and 3-11 vs P4 competition
i am willing to wager that the two “elite” teams we have lost to thus far this season will combine for at least 6 regular season losses
quote:so, if they somehow manage to get the offense back on track by, say, the Kentucky game, at which point we will likely be 3-5 with two more ranked opponents on our schedule, you’ll consider the season a success?

ESPN FPI is a joke. Last season it had our 5-7 team at #31, while 10-3 Illinois sat at #42 (a team that beat #15 South Carolina in their Bowl game - the same South Carolina team that blew out the only decent team that we barely beat last season: A&M).

You spent an entire post claiming everyone was melting down over a single game. When called on it you claimed you were only stating "facts". Now numerous posters have pointed out to you the ridiculousness of your original claim, using actual facts, you have since shifted your statement to saying only your stats were facts.

Nope, once again you're being disingenuous. Despite many people never wanting Freeze to begin with, including myself, I don't think anybody was calling for his job after the first two years. I think everyone was fine with year 1 even though it was soured by 4th and 31 and a bowl game gag. Year 2 there were statistically positive signs but we just couldn't figure out how to win games. After 2.5 years of recruiting and portaling there is zero excuse for Auburn to be this bad at what our head coach specializes in, especially considering its gotten worse. MSU was in a far worse spot than us with far fewer resources and Lebby, in year 2, has them playing at a level Hugh has arguably yet to reach at Auburn certainly considering expectations and historical performance.

and you’re being disingenuous to pretend we had better options to begin with after firing two coaches in two years.
Again, disingenuous and pure speculation. Do you honestly believe there isn't a coach in the country that Auburn could have paid millions of dollars to that wouldn't have us playing at least respectable football right now in all three phases of the game? One that wouldn't have strung together two historically bad performances in a row when it was put up or shut up time?

If Harsin had left more talent, if Throne didn't throw interceptions, if we didn't rush only 2, if our kicker wasn't sick, if we get rid of Montgomery, if we just let him get his QB, if Durkin didn't turtle up with a lead if, if, if. The longer we keep Hugh the longer the list of "ifs" will become. It's wild you don't see it because as has been pointed out many times we just lived this exact scenario with Gus for the last few years of his tenure.

Brother pretty much everyone is where I'm at in regards to this coach and this program. There is nothing to tear down, we are at the bottom. The absolute rock bottom. Worse than the Barfield years. Worst program in the SEC this decade aside from Vandy who is currently in a better place than we are as of today. Where are you afraid of falling to?

This is fine and I hope you're right and we come out after the bye and shock UGA. There is zero reason to have any expectation of that happening but I hope that it does.
What I have a problem with is your strawman arguments and moving the goalposts and pretending like Hugh is the best Auburn can do.
ETA: Just look at the numerous videos of people who know football breaking down the absurdity of what our coach is trying to do offenesively.

I’m wondering what the locker room is like right now. Gotta think Hugh is close to losing it.

My fall ball 12U softball team has gotten run ruled two games in a row.
I smooth it over by saying those teams have girls are a travel ball team that practice all summer and they dont have a life.
Fans get restless tho

Just remind them nothing can be expected until you've had 4 years to install your knowledge and build your culture and that if they make a change there is zero chance they can get someone better and they'll just get run ruled even harder

Freeze has yet to show a competent offense. That part I don’t understand. How do we not have a high level offense when we spend 2mil on a QB, pick up two D1 starters on Oline and have the most elite WRs we’ve ever had. Oh not to mention an elite CFB RB group. He only wants to throw so somewhat irrelevant. Adapt….he won’t
Posted on 10/4/25 at 5:31 am to jangalang
Auburn sucks. Hugh Freeze is a short timer at this point. We will make him a wealthy man soon by paying him to stop working her. We will hire a new coach, I will foolishly buy in, he will be average, we will say give him time, won't get better, pay him to go away, repeat, repeat, repeat. Freeze has a worse record than Harsin at this point.. Just stocked the pantry for the next guy, but we lose that when we fire Freeze. So stupid and has become unwatchable and has made it almost comical and impossible to even care anymore. Seems the game has passed us by

I just sold 4 of my 5 AU/uga tickets. Just don't feel like making the schlep. Too much money and asspain to just leave pissed off again.
I'll still make a few more games, including the Iron Bowl, but these last 5 years, wandering the desert of terrible football, terrible coaches, NIL, transfer portal, all while the price increases, just makes me question why the F I'm still doing this.
I love Auburn, but Auburn Football is an abuser.
