When did the rules change? Thought you had to have at least 50 posts to start a post? Is this an admin alt?

but at the time Freeze was considered one of the best available coaches

To some Auburn fans and to the AD, yes. To ANY other school with any coaching opening, no.

That would be AUfamily. This site probably doesnt have the software capability to restrict capabilities until certain parameters are met. This site was designed during the days of dialup.

I thought the transfer offensive tackle was a potential early draft pick?
Maybe?

For us to sustain Top10 classes, we are going to have to beat someone we’re not expected to. And Freeze is going to have to be seen and having out coached them. Future players are going to have to see us as a potential development path to the NFL. Hope it happens and I’m pulling for him, but I’m not holding my breath.

Like Texas A&M last year?

Maybe so maybe not. At least this year I think all we need to show is improvement (8-9 wins) and then assuming we do have 2-3 first round draft picks next year I think things fall in line in terms of recruiting going forward. The money comes in from boosters and fans, the high schoolers see development path, and we can start flipping these top recruits. Not to mention we can continue to "buy" these top transfer portal guys for 1 year rentals to fill in our gaps.

Even if we have a "down" year in recruiting (top 15 instead of top 10) I don't think it'll hurt us like some people think.

I hope being able to develop will be the main factor in the decision process in the future because it sure isn't a factor now. High star talent follows the money more than anything today.

And on top of that, the control that the boosters had during the Harsin era was insane. I don't know how any coach could see that job as being desirable if they thought they were going to be controlled like a puppet the entire time.

Every school has some level of this, for some reason Auburn's gets elevated, examples, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennesee

Sounds nice but probably won't need him.Unless Arnold balls out so much that he will be a good draft pick but he probably won't be that great. So that would mean to pay up for a 2027 QB. As we have to look at the whole roster. And see what we will need.

He’s a project.

Which we’re fine with taking in this class. Lot of raw skill there. Good athleticism.

Sit behind Deuce/JA for a few years and he’ll be good to go.

he’ll just transfer if he’s really good, or if he sucks he’ll be off the roster

Probably right with him being from Pennsylvania, honestly. Why I’d rather take local kids these days.

Sadly I would have to agree but money being money...saw some highlights of him, again they are highlights but sometimes has a good touch.
