... took a while?... he was hired at 8 oclock last night. Internet fans are a fickle, funny lot.

Its funny, the SECr has been saying that Gus was one of the reasons for Auburn winning, and the Chizik wasn't worth a crap. But now that he is the HC, he isn't worth anything. Trolls gonna troll, flamers gonna flame, etc.

Yep. I've already made my mind up that I'm not about to waste my time arguing with them about this like I did with Chizik. I'll just sit back and watch and cheer the team.

That and bookmark a shite ton of threads to bump if he does have good success.

I'm holding judgement until I see the staff he puts together, particularily the D side.

This is what we need to do.

It's useless, most of them of course are from the bammers who should be focused on finding a place to park the single wide in Miami, but instead are focused on what's going on in Auburn.

Honestly, I'm not concerned with Malzahn when it comes to discipline. I feel he is a much bigger hard arse than Chizik.

If he can get our S&C program back on track, and let Yox start handspring punishments again, discipline will be fine.

Also, if he boots Bolt and Jackson and give JJ the finger when he tries to run the team, he will have my full support.

I was laughing about that too. During the 2010 season, that's all we heard...Chizik is stupid, Malzahn is the brains behind the operation. I also love how all the Bama people are all over Scarbinsky's dick with this article about why Smart didn't get/take the job. Normally, Scarbo is considered an auburn hack that hates Alabama.

As to the hire, I was highly underwhelmed at first, but have now stepped back from the ledge and willing to jump on the Bus and see where it takes us. Hell, it's got to be better than last year right?

I hate to be the Debbie downer but, no. Our schedule is actually harder next year and the west will be stacked

Should be fun playing Johnny football next year at a&m

Our offense will definitely be better given almost all the personnel we have is catered to Malzahns offense. The biggest question is the defense and how it can improve.

Yes, the schedule will be harder, but I have to believe that we will be a better football team next year. I don't know what happened under Chizik, but the team imploded. Perhaps I am just whistling through the graveyard.

how do you figure?... we open with WSU at home (not a top 15 team on a neutral site), keep UGA at home, and trade 8-4 Vandy for 5-7 Tenn.

Is that because of the new teams being added to the conference?

You're clueless if you think that schedule is tougher than what we just faced... We should be able to win our four OOC games and find at least two conference wins out of Ole Miss, MSU, @Ark, @UT.

We played 9 bowl teams in 2012... there aren't that many on the 2013 slate.
