I have an idea. Gus isn't going anywhere any time soon, so how about you give him the benefit of the doubt in terms of discipline/taking the reigns instead of shitting all over him before you even know what's going to happen.

If he fails, feel free to rip him to shreds, but until then, not a single one of us know what/how he's going to do. I'm not sold that this will just be the same as the last crew. Gus took his orders from Chizik on the field, and I have no doubt that he took them from Chizik when it came to disciplining players as well. I hope that he makes a change and I hope that things get back to the way they used to be, but I'm definitely not going to just give up on the guy before he even starts.

I started out very disappointed/underwhelmed/pissed off yesterday when I heard the hire. But the more I hear him speak, and the videos people have posted of him breaking down defenses and plays,I really am starting to like this hire. The guy sounds intelligent, which is way more than you could say for chizik. And he seems like he isn't going to be soft either, but the next days will prove what kind of man/coach he is to the players and over time we will see too.

And I frickin love he said we were going to get back focused on running the ball. Running back university is back.

Hopefully.

Agree. I mean if it doesnt work out obviously the guy will get canned, chiz was gone 2 years after a title so... But nothing else we can do now but support or GTFO. He needs to make good hires at the coordinators positions.

The first 5 posts in this thread have already written Gus off as being the same as the last staff. We won't know that until he's been on the job and we actually see if that's true or not.

If you don't like the hire, that's fine, but I don't see the point in beating a dead horse when you don't even know what the guy will actually be like as our head coach. I'm just sick of the constant negativity on this board when not a single person on here knows how this will go.

IMHO a good gauge of if the culture is changing from Chizik soft to SEC tough is how many guys quit.
If we have a high rate of guys moving on and quitting the team then Gus is laying down the law and building some mental and physical toughness.

I was confused as to if your response was directed at me, since I wasn't the first or last to post.

Dont think it was directed at you, look like its just in general. Most people hate this hire right now so going to take a little time for other people to man up and DWI

The poster copied the text then replied to NGT, so it says his username at the top right.

Yeah, it was just in general.

No one has to agree with the hire, but it's done. There's nothing we can do about it now but support Malzahn and hope that things change for the better. I just don't understand the constant bitching and moaning on this board when no one knows how this will actually go.

If things don't change, feel free to bitch about it, but until then, the guy at least deserves a chance, is all I'm saying. Let's not try to bury him before we see what kind of team takes the field next year.

That pretty much sums up my feelings about the hire. I will be very interested to see who he keeps on the staff and who he hires.

I get what you're saying dude. But this is a message board. You're going to get about as much done bitching about the bitchers as the bitchers are going to get done bitching about the hire

So in the end, you are wasting just as much breathe bitching, just bitching about something different. Just get use to it and move on. It's the Internet. People are going to bitch

Its funny, the SECr has been saying that Gus was one of the reasons for Auburn winning, and the Chizik wasn't worth a crap. But now that he is the HC, he isn't worth anything. Trolls gonna troll, flamers gonna flame, etc.
