Here is a post I read on ITAT.

I can recall seeing Gus standing over Cam Newton while he was doing up-downs for doing something wrong in practice. Keep in mind this was when Cam was just a couple weeks away from winning the Heisman. He was the new Tebow, he was Johnny Football before Johnny Football, THE story nationally - and not just off the field...and Gus has him doing up-downs for poor technique (or whatever).

If there was ever a guy to be labeled a "favorite", that was the guy. If there was ever a time for a coach to back off, that was the time. But no, there he is with his face in the grass like a nasty ole lineman ("two more, Cam!").

I recall thinking I wish all the young kids out there could see this. They see the smile and the big plays when he is in the spotlight, but they don't see his coach jumping down his throat when he does something wrong just like their coach does them.

But in turn, that same guy brought Dyer to Ark St knowing what he was bringing in. Just to get a running back.

But the more I hear him speak, and the videos people have posted of him breaking down defenses and plays,I really am starting to like this hire

I for one haven't gotten over it, and I'm not gonna just get in line and get on board. I have zero faith in the current leadership at AU. They have done nothing to instill faith in me about the direction of the program. Getting on board means condoning this sham of a coaching search twice, and I'm not willing to do that.

Gus may be a great guy and he may win a few games here, but the problems at AU haven't changed.

The more and more I think about this hire, the more I believe it is going to blow up in Auburns face.

My fear is that Gus will be a 7-5 8-4 coach at best and stick around for years. Cam aint coming back, we wont sniff ATL under Gus
