Garner (again)
I always enjoy your takes and Info as a Coach, but why would you select Garner?
He has no HC experience, but then again a lot of these coordinators making the jump doesn’t. He has a lot of
Experience many places.

Don't get him started on this. Just smile and nod

We as fans always want the CEO approach head coach. Hire good coaches and recruiters. Let them do their jobs. Obtain talent. Be a hard arse when needed and love Auburn. That’s Garner. His network of coaches is massive.

Garner is not smart enough to be a good HC. It is what it is.

What the f…. So you know Coach G’s intelligence? Please inform us all on all that because I’ve met him multiple times and he has never come across as unintelligent.

He has always wanted to be HC yet no one has hired him. Why? AU is not the place for RG to be HC. Maybe Alabama A&M. I would wish him well there.
If we can't go big like Lane or Lanning, then sign me up for Sumrall or Golesh and I would be happy. Could also be OK with some coordinators (has RG ever been a coordinator?).

He is a bagman DL coach who has been in the game for over ~two decades in the SEC and nobody has bothered to make him or pushed him towards being a DC. Which means that his X's and O's knowledge is weak. Which means that he isn't likely to be a good HC, especially as the game gets pushed more towards the NFL wherein you wont be able to just "out-talent" other teams. Your HC needs to be very football smart and situationally cognizant, regardless of whether they are a CEO coach or not.

Lanning
What if Lanning is hating all the travel and being way out there on the left coast? A boy could dream.

Word I’m hearing is Cohen is waiting till end of season to fire Freeze. Doesn’t like Durkin and doesn’t want him as an interim to come in and be successful and would have to keep him. Has deal already set up with Sumrall to be our next head coach.

I hope you are right

This seems like fantasyland.

If somehow Kelly became the coach at Auburn, I'd be fine never watching another game. I can not stand him at all... Freeze is bad enough.. I don't even watch Freeze's interviews or anything. Can't stand hearing him speak either right now.

I will just say that yesterday I heard from someone who claims to be close to Sumrall and his family. According to this person, AU is Sumrall's 1st choice. I take this with a huge grain of salt since I did not hear this 1st hand and so should everyone on here. I just think it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
