Just hoping for a thread like this on Grimes and maybe even KB.

Lol why would you want Kodi to be gone???

So where's he going and why doesn't Gus like him?
Posted on 2/6/19 at 5:25 pm to MrAUTigers
That's kinda disappointing

Gus Malzahn's leadership sure knows how to lift up and inspire loyalty.

Gus isn’t loyal. He’s a thot.

meh, dude got a demotion, and taken off the field, after being the RB coach for nine years. He interviewed several times for a HC gig. He doesn't want to be a pencil pusher. I am sure he will try to catch on with another school as an on-field coach.

Best of luck to him. Sometimes you just need a breath of fresh air

Honestly I thought he was a good enough running backs coach and I have no hard feelings on him wanting to move up to a head coaching spot. He wasn’t the best recruiter in terms of getting the best of the best but he always seemed to have solid backs.

He got great production out of running backs that I thought were inferior to much of our competition, with the exception of Mason and Johnson.
CAP, Peyton Barber, and Corey Grant are all still in the NFL though so maybe they were more talented than I give them credit

Why would you want Grimes to not be an off field assistant type assistant?
Re KB, why would you want one of our best recruiters whose position group was one of our stronger areas to leave?

I just don’t get the KB hate.

I’m just fascinated that Gus’ coaches never seem to get promotions when they leave.
Chip Lindsey is the only one, right?
Everyone else has either left for a lateral move or demotion.

Because he isn’t qualified

He's the best WR coach I can remember us having. The talent level at the position is at an all-time high. The level of play increased immediately upon his arrival.
I hope after next year we add Ryan Pugh and Zac Etheridge to the staff too. Big deal that their resumes are short, their talent for coaching has been obvious so far in their young careers. Its only a matter of time before they're on a major coaching staff and I would rather AU be the one to benefit from the coaching talent of former AU players.

It's going to break my heart when Caddy, Kodi, and T-Will aren't retained by the new coach
