Bump.

UCF lost their AD, then their HC, hired a new AD and hired Gustav today since Harsin was named.

We already know Gustav's UCF contract terms.

Any word on Harsin's?

Auburn hasn't answered any FOIA requests from writers, be them AU Beat Writers or clowns (Forde.)

Which is pretty much par for the course.

Alabama’s FOIA doesn’t provide a timeline for response and there’s practically no language regarding enforcement. So, basically, Auburn will respond when they’re good and ready to

Florida’s FOIA is a bit stronger on the enforcement side so entities typically respond quickly to avoid lawsuits.

It wouldn't surprise me that it's a ridiculous deal. Making Gus's contract extension seem reasonable by comparison.

Actually, it would surprise me if it comes anywhere near Gustav's extension.

My guess is that it will be close to what Gustav was making in 2017 before the extension - somewhere between $4 and $5 million per year, which would put him between #15-#30 amongst FBS HCs (he was #68 in 2020 at BSU).

I am curious as to what his buyout will be.

Another thing...isn't it normal when a team hires a new coach and 'agree in principle' on the contract, the actual contract details take months to write and then all parties sign off.

Therefore, I can see AU is not ready to release the details until a fully signed contract is done.

So take that times 12, and you get a base of 1.792 Million.

Add in endorsement deals, coach show, etc, that all coaches have in their contract that isn't paid by the University, and that probably puts him in the 4-5 per year range.

It seems like January starts out with like a $50,000 bump and June has a $70,000 bump, so subtracting that you get either $99,000/month or $79,000/month so yeah $1.068m seems about right or $1.32m at $90,000/month

That is a noble thing Jville and I do agree with you. But that is not how it works these days unfortunately. People get paid what a job basically pays. From the start. When TExas AM hired Jimbo, They didnt give him 2mil a year and tell him to earn the rest. The top is off the coaching market.

I agree Lanier, its the difference between what "should be" and "what is".

Michael Douglas in the movie "falling down", is an engineer working for a defense contractor "keeping merica safe", loses it, is chased by the police, ends up behind a huge mansion in Beverly Hills and asks, who the hell can afford a place like this, and the fella with him says....a plastic surgeon...what the market will bear indeed.
