k, I do to, I just don't believe yet the coach is running us into the ground. Changing coaches every year because we won't give the coach we get a chance to actually have a system in will make Auburn something any good coach will avoid. This drama we keep up makes Auburn a place to avoid. So you want every coach that ever goes anywhere to be successful in a year they arrive. Real success takes years to achieve.

I see examples of that being untrue

Saban won a natty is year 3, Chiz won a natty in year 2, Gus played for one in year 1, Jimbo in year 4 (though he had been the OC at FSU for 3 years prior), Kirby played for one in year 2, Coach O after 3.5 years. Maybe those shouldn't be realistic expectations, but it's the world we live in now, and we were over the moon when two of our coaches helped create them.

I wasn't expecting to make the playoffs this year, but with our 2021 record and losses/stumbles to inferior teams like USCe, Moo State, and GA State, it's hard to call last season anything other than "below expectations," even for a first year coach. Add to that a large number of coach and player departures, and fans are going to start scratching their heads.

With the seismic shift created by NIL and the transfer portal, I'm willing to give any coach a little more slack as it may have just gotten a lot harder to maintain and build a roster...maybe that will shake out at some point. Still, if Harsin doesn't start showing progression instead of regression, I'd think his seat will and should start getting pretty warm.

People have a hard time grasping that. They think good coaches would be falling over each other to come coach here if the job was open.

We are in a bad spot and I am losing faith by the day. However, we are stuck with Harsin for the time being. Getting rid of him in the next year or two would be a huge mistake.

Another thing people don't grasp, these HC's have to hire a staff. Most of the time the staff has young/school aged children. Nobody wants to come to a place where three years down the road you are uprooting your family and looking for another job because your employer is impatient.

All of these guys are making six figure salaries. Many are making >$400k. Plus they are generally mercenaries, so having to move every couple of years is just part of the job description.

I think he and Liberty are made for each other and I hope he stays there forever.
