FSU. Clemson. LSU.
Everyone knew coming into the season he had to beat 2/3 UA/UGA/LSU to keep his job. He wins next week and he's good.
Honestly, he's probably good no matter what, given how many programs will be looking.

Lets all have a reality check, Gus has been a head coach at this level ( major pressure CFB) for 4 years. His first we had 2 gotdamn miracle wins that got us to the NC game. Not much coaching involved. Now the LSU debacle happened, along with a few game in previous years. I think he has finally learned to let got and TRUST players to make plays on Offense and just get out of the way. It was the case last week and this week. Good on him... Omlete plate scattered smothered chunked and dice. War Damn.

Very unfair to say not much coaching involved when talking about 2013, especially the Iron Bowl. The offensive game plan was great in that game.
I think there is a chance that has learned a lesson in conservative play calling. There is a time and a place for running the ball every down to kill clock, and it sure as shite doesn't start in the first half

You are correct he did have enough sense to set up the Kick 6 and the O was good vs one of the best Bama Ds that day. However the major takeaway from today is that Gus got out of his own way. I dont know if that was from a humbling experience at LSU, or something else. I feel like he grew as a coach/play caller. That is all that matters for our future.

It’s not fair....wtf? You whining sissy’s. Shut your mouth. Tonight is a night for AU fans..real fans...to enjoy the work done by the team and the coaches. All you negative whiners...go to bed.
We lost two games but neither matter at this point. Win and your in. Not to mention Gus just delivered another beauty for his alumni in the Atl.
War Damn Eagle.

I am sorry that calling balls and strikes offends you, however,I graduated from AU as did my dad. Sorry but both games we lost matter. Not so much the games but the way we lost them. Especially the LSU game. Both were major coaching gaffs, but now whe have a chance to erase them, and I am all for that. Gus has improved and I salute him for it we just need to finish.

Gus deserved the criticism, now the praise. No Auburn coach and no Auburn players had ever gone 0-8 vs Bama and UGA. Beat Bama and I will be driving the Bus.

I am not sure why Clemson was a coaching gaff...we gave up 11 sacks and I believe 17 QB pressures. That is getting your butt handed to you.

... and you don't think public negativity wasn't involved in his change of heart play calling?
One win, a 360 revolving turn-around, where now he's a team player and willing to trust his players, assistants, and the generally accepted fact that three marquee players are not enough. One loss didn't get him to such a (hopefully) low-point in his career; anymore than one win (and sudden mid-season epiphany) doesn't wipe the board clean for a season of shite-for-brains coaching. You are aware the noise wasn't just from here? And ever frequently his name-in-vain was/is being uttered over the air?
- Enjoy the win !!!
- Enjoy the effort by this D !!!
- Enjoy a team that's finally in mid-season form !!!
- AND -
- Finally enjoy the O getting off page one.

I'd definitely lay the blame on coaching for the Clemson loss. How do you give up 11 sacks in a 14-6 game, never trailing by more than one possession, unless the coaching staff is in serious derp mode?
But I saw some big strides in playcalling the last couple of weeks, and even the plays that didn't work, they still forced the opposing D to be a little more honest. Not to mention, 3 weeks ago I never would've predicted seeing a play like the final TD against UGA, and apparently neither did UGA lol...

Its what I do. Did not stop on the way home last night from the game. I probably would have let a generous tip.
First time in about 10 years my wife had to drive me home from the game.

You can't call plays when the OL is getting their butt handed to them. There is no play call for that...we proved it last night against uga with our DL.
