Like SJSU Gus merely took what he needed to take. He can't afford to run JJ though he was open on the zone read several times. There was zero reason to throw the ball down field and risk the reconstruction of JJ's psyche. The game wasn't nearly as close as the score.

They don't score a touchdown if the targeting call was reviewed correctly.

They don't cross our 50 yard line if we don't make silly defensive penalties.

We score 2 more touchdowns if WR's simply catch the football. That isn't play calling that is player execution.

Let's not get too carried away with how our O looked last night.

Obviously our running game was the meat of our yardage, and JJ succeeded as more of a game manager than a play maker...nothing SW is incapable of.

We certainly showed improvement. Parts of the offense seemed more dynamic. We ran hurry up right out of the gate (where the frick was this before?). TAMU's defense really isn't that great.

I just don't think we should believe yet that this team has had some sort of epiphany.

One positive I saw last night was JJ actually checking the ball down. Amazing how you don't turn it over when you do that!!!

Yeah, last night was not an indication that JJ has improved. Last night was just Gus making sure JJ didn't cost us the game. SW is the answer going forward. If his dick is just too broken for UGA and Bama well then hopefully JJs hand offs to JRob are without error but winning going forward is going to be on the defense like it was last night. Especially if red zone retard doesn't wake up.

As soon as it happened, I yelled "Reggie Fish"! That fricking play was burned into my memory.

He did it one time for sure. JJ checking down is not something one forgets.
