I am told he would be interested.
I'm sure just about any coordinator would be interested in a head coaching job.

Patterson is the kind of guy who can move a program forward. Which is what we need. Not a hit it and quit it guy.

Patterson was my number 1 choice last time and he still is.

Yeah, give me the guy who has won the Rose Bowl between our first interview and now.

This. At TCU for that matter. He built that program up. I think he could do a lot at Auburn.

He is doing pretty well this season given the talent gap.
He is a hell of a coach and would be a fantastic hire. He has been and remains my top pick.

I just assumed he was like Petersen and would never leave.
But if he's willing to leave TCU, then I'll gladly jump on board the Patterson bandwagon.

A defensive coach that can actually scout players. Yes please.

This would be a great hire. Definitely one of the top two or three.

I'm still on the Petersen bandwagon, but I'd take Patterson in a heartbeat.
Dude can flat out coach, and would satisfy the 'hard nosed, fundamental football' types. I feel pretty confident he'd have an found offensive identity 8 games into a season no matter who his OC was or how bad his QBs were.
My top 4 semi-realistic choices are:
1) Chris Petersen
2) Gary Patterson
3) Charlie Strong
4) Jimbo Fisher
Knowing how AU operates, though, I still think we end up with either Neil Callaway or Houston Nutt.

Yeah, I never listed Gary Patterson because I didn't think he would leave TCU. But I would fap the skin off if we could get him.

I bet if they'd park the Banks truck on his front lawn we could get him.

I really belive that if wee man left bammer Patterson would be in the top two canidates to replace him.
And I think that he would be Tuga's top choice if Richt ever left.
