Once OU and Tejas come in, Sankey said they might do away with divisions completely (no "pods" either). He said right now they are looking at the following system:

1) Everyone plays 9 SEC games
2) Everyone gets 3 permanent SEC rivals
3) The other 6 teams will be assigned randomly
4) The 2nd season, you will play the other 6 teams you didn't play the season before.
5) After 2 seasons, each team would have played every team in the SEC. Then the cycle starts over.

So, AU will be assigned Bama and UGA as two of our permanents. Based on history, UF or UT would make sense as the third. However, I think that is very unfair, so I think we should strive for a cupcake 3rd permanent team. Vandy, for instance, would work for me.

I miss the old Vandy/Auburn rivalry. It is one of the best ever and should be reintroduced by the SEC.

However we are Auburn and will get UTenn, LSU, or knowing the SEC OK

Honestly feel like if this is the approach, the DSOR will be broken up as a permanent game.

Wont happen because Bama wont give up either UTenn or Auburn. UF wont give up UT and UG, Etc. Etc.

I see 3 permenant rivals and 6 rotating teams probably have 3 teams fall off the schedule each year and 3 new ones move on. Will play all SEC schools every 4 years.

They are fricking up. Killing college football slowly but surely. Preeminent conference in the country, that routinely gets TWO teams in the playoffs, Sankey and company want to roll the dice with more expansion? Texas is a clearly a poison pill. They single handedly killed the Big 12, and I fully expect them to bring the same bullshite here.

That 2016 game was one of the best games ever played in any rivalry.

Why wouldn't we want to bring that back?

The NCAA started that when they started being soft on cheating and making so many silly rules. They almost need to do a hard reset to the 90's rules and NCAA approach. The NIL and Transfer Portal are eventually going to make the star players in charge of everything anyways.

As for the scheduling, they will eventually turn all into divisions like the pro sports have and determine who plays for what. At worst it will turn like college basketball playoffs.

As for Texas, they won't muscle anything around in the sec. The SEC doesn't need them as much as they need the SEC or as much as the Big 12 did. With the SEC signing with ESPN, I doubt they even have the Longhorn network when they come.

We will keep Bama and UGA, in Basketball our third team is Ole Miss (home and away every year) and I could see that.

Bama might be Auburn, UTe and MSU.

UGA could get Auburn, Florida and probable USCe.

Vandy and Auburn is a heated rivalry. 2012 makes our blood boil. The tense 2016 match up. We took a former head coach. It’s a hallmark rivalry.

George Washington U
George Mason U
St. George U
George Wallace Community College

Which is it HailtotheChiz?

No really I like that system, I miss playing Florida and Tennesee as a rotation though so I like OP's scheduling system they're talking about.

I’d go Missouri since it’s been proven that they’re happy to hand us wins on a silver platter.
