If you read the article Jamg posted, think about Durkin's history, and still want him as HC I don't know how to help you

I know we're all probably reading the same articles, and watching the same videos...
1. Sumrall
2. Brohm
3. Dillly
4.Drink
5. Durkin
6. Golesh

I agree with this list except I would swap 3 & 4. And I think I could talk myself into this entire list and see them as clear upgrades. Dilly I see as having both the highest ceiling and the lowest floor.

Start at the 13 minute mark. Brohm bros unite!

I’m starting to come around on Brohm a bit though he will be 55 next season. Didn’t know much about him. He was ho hum at Purdue but has been killing it relatively at Louisville. They have a solid Sophmore RB averaging over 8 YPC (that he could bring with him) though their passing has been mediocre this year. Does he bring his son to be OC? Does he keep Durkin?

Not a good day. Brohm is 5-8 against top ten teams though. A record like that is in line with where our coach needs to be.

His record against ranked and Top 10 teams is as good as you are going to get considering he would have been playing with a talent disadvantage in almost all of those games (all of the ones vs. Top 10 opponents for certain).
He is a really good coach and he would absolutely dominate with Coleman/Singleton. The #1 receiver in his offense always produces big results.

Do you remember him beating multiple top 5 teams all while coaching at Vandy type programs like Purdue and Louisville? When is the last time Auburn has beaten a top 5 team?

oh, if we pulled Brohm from his alma mater i would be pumped, he’s a helluva coach
just funny to think how unstoppable we looked against his Purdue team in our (checks notes) last bowl victory 7 years ago

I look at trends vs individual games.

Is the alumni factor not being little overblown.
If the school had a tad more prestige I could see the blessing into it. Maybe at least Florida State level.
Dilly is an alum but he didnt even play football.
We need to break the bank and show him he is well loved. He will love it here and forget about Kentucky if he wins.

As much as I love Durkin, if we hesitate to make him HC because of past, what other school would? Durkin may stay to coach under an offensive coach like Brohm who is also an established 55 yr old HC. Probably won’t stay to work under a “kid” like Dilly. Brohm with Durkin would be amazing.

If he can recruit as that guy said then watch out. Our scoreboard will overheat!

Yeah this is my guy. 3 out of his 4 losses last season were by a td to Notre dame, smu, and Miami. 2 playoff teams and one that almost made the playoff. I think he's the one of the few guys out there that feels like he could come in and get the better of Kirby, Kalen, Huepel, Lane, and Elko more times than not.
He's a lil loony and his offenses always hum. If yall haven't watched Louisville this year i suggest it. They've got a dawg at rb and a really good number 1 receiver.
I know he's an offensive guy but he would immediately feel different than Gus and Hugh and maybe we get to hold on to dj for a year or two.
Brohm
Key
Durkin
Sumrall
Lea
Dilly
Drink
That's my list

Not worried about that in the NIL world. DeBoner couldn’t recruit for shite until he got to uat. I remember Brohm pulling the top WR in the country when he was at Purdue. And more importantly, he actually knew how to use him after he got him.
