I’m not a fan of Brohm so I couldn’t care less if he’s not considered.

Because he knows how to pass the ball? Or because he actually knows how to both gameday coaching and play calling.

The ball knowers need to know

They are stupid.

Or rather, they may think fondly of Jimbo the guy, but if they think fondly of him as top man at a major football program then they are stupid.

As far as I have heard Jimmy hasn’t commented in the search. I think this will be all Cohen at the end of the day

I just don’t like Brohm. Has nothing to do with schemes. I think he’d be a great OC. And never allowed to speak in public. He’s a punk and as a coach most Auburn fans would hate him.

They hired Hugh Freeze.

But they wanted Lane Kiffin. Freeze was Plan B. A terrible mistake for certain.

This means nothing.

People keep bringing up these coaches that some booster is "fond of" but they don't realize that none of these boosters is Bobby Lowder. So who they are "fond of" means very little.

Some current boosters were also fond of Jeff Grimes, and Bill Clark. Remember them?

Nobody is going to tell Cohen to hire Jimbo Fisher, regardless of how fond they are of him.

These storylines keep rising up because people still seem to believe that Bobby Lowder is in the room, but he isn't. And Jimmy Rane isn't trying to play Jerry Jones. Nor is Harbert.

Hugh Freeze was a "makes sense for all parties involved" type hire after they spent a lot of time and ultimately missed on Kiffin. Yes, the boosters liked him, but he also made some level of sense which is why all parties ultimately agreed. He simply failed, and as you can see across the country: LOTS of coaches fail, even ones who had less question marks than Freeze did. Certain parts of what Freeze sold them on did play in fact play out: raising money (Auburn's NIL is strong), recruiting, etc.

They simply made a wrong decision by leaning too much into finding the anti-Harsin. When you look at Freeze, he is the opposite of everything that made Harsin terrible: loves to recruit (more than coach football, we learned), loves NIL and fundraising, friendly/personable, Southern-Baptist bullshite persona, players coach, "Southern fit", etc, etc.

Probably in that order currently.

No way that is Cohen's actual list of candidates given that this is his ride-or-die hire IMO.

Sumrall - The more I think of this the more I think that he is a backup option. He is working way too hard to try to get this job from his end. Too much noise on him, which 98% of the time means that it is agent driven.

Durkin & Kelly - Can't possibly be who Cohen wants to hitch his career on. Again, backup options from a sheer job-preservation perspective of the AD.

It's not going to be Durkin. That's the same bullshite we heard with Kevin Steele

Team DJ is probably going to take a hit in Nashville

I could almost see Vandy overlooking a reenergized Auburn squad, but that ship probably sailed last Saturday.

However, if Durkin goes 3-0, and Nix's play calling ignites the offense, the momentum for him to get the job is going to be impossible to ignore.

He is better than Freeze. If you can watch Freeze then Durkin will be a piece of cake.

If we hire Brohm we are cooking with gas.

If we hire Sumerall then we will have to be very patient.

The last time we had a legit D and fired Gus the GOBs wanted Steele, then our AD got in a hot tub with the Swinging Harsins. The GOBs are gonna make sure Cohen goes nowhere near ant hot tubs

Cohen better hire a coach worth the 11-12m he's gonna need to pay a coach to come in and save his career at Auburn.
