Key word bolded.

Apparently, Thorne is the BEST qb on our team right now. I think he plays like shite, but he's still the best one that Freeze was able to to get in his 1st attempt jumping into a dumpster fire!

Would you want to come play for the team that Haskin left us with?

Imagine how hard it would be to recruit a QB when your WR core has butter hands, and the OL is softer than a sponge

If you pollled this board before the season 100/100 would’ve said a 2-5 (0-4 SEC) start was horrible and that the coach must be doing a poor job. I guarantee no one predicted a worse record than 5-7.

Now, it was an inevitability that we would stink this year, and no reflection on Hugh at all. At worst Hugh is at fault for Thorne but that’s it, the rest is just bad luck and Gus & Harsin’s doing.

I couldn’t lie to myself like that.

Yes, I was one of the few that wanted Freeze. I believed he was an excellent recruiter and his offense put up good numbers and he could develop Qbs.

I still like that 4 years after Gus left, he caused us to go 2-5.

Dude has some serious pull or dropped a serious turd in the punchbowl.

Plenty of coaches out there turning around programs in way worse shape than Auburn in 2 seasons. We had a coach that left 4 years ago who is still hurting us.

And I agree. People here are using hope instead of common sense

Exactly. The amount of gas-lighting going on in INSANE.

The reasonable expectations for this season were 7-5 or 8-4. Now people all of a sudden want to pretend like 3-wins was supposedly par for the course of what we should have expected? shite man, he should have won at least 7 games last season but we blew multiple games at the end, and this year's team IS "better".

7 wins is not in any way an unreasonable expectation. We have already lost two games that were won (Oklahoma, Missouri). Cal beat us by 7 points despite the fact that we were -5 in turnovers. That is another game that should have been won. Arkansas was a similar story. None of these games were lost due to a lack of talent.

Exactly!! The fact that Freeze got the #1 dual-threat QB to flip is still amazing to me. Recruiting is on tracking, but the assistant staff clearly needs an upgrade. Which brings up another question. Is Freeze severly hampered with who he is able to hire due to 3 coaches in 6 years? I imagine that a good assistant coach is coveted almost as much as a player. The good ones have options, the average ones take what is offered.

You should go ask Ole Miss fans about the Hugh Freeze coaching tree. You don’t need to worry about us going out and hiring any top assistants, needless to say.

Freeze has won more games with Harsin's team than he has won with his own players.

Think about that for a second. The team has gotten worse with fewer Harsin players on it. Percy Lewis isn't a Harsin player.

It isnt even a great point. That wasnt Harsin's team last year.

Harsin can claim:
Camden Brown
Koy Moore
DJ James
Keione Scott
Thorne (my how the turn tables)
Harsin cannot claim any OL.

Percy Lewis is a bum but nobody mentions Gunner Britton. That guy was a one year band aid brought in by Hugh that was so good that Nick Saban sought him out after the Iron Bowl to shake his hand. So Freeze is 1-1.

I think it’s a mixture of boosters, good ole boy club, and the rest want stability

Take off the Hugh hating glasses

We are still fighting on all fronts.

We’ve been in just about every game in the 4th with the debacle QB play.

We just can’t turn the corner. Think of a graded kid. We’re at a C+ etching for the B but just can’t get out of the high 70s

Look at how long it took both UT’s to turn it around.

This is all just meaningless noise.

The coaches that succeed long term in this conference tend to start showing that by year 2. By this point in the tenure they would already have signature wins (ie: wins against ranked opponents).

Freeze has shown the complete opposite: we are losing games that we should be winning. Two+ score 4th quarter leads in games we are completely controlling, and we find ways to lose them. Point me to all of the successful SEC coaches that had this many clear collapses by this point in their tenure. I can assure you the list is very small, if not nonexistent.

Josh Heupel won 11 games in year #2 despite inheriting a complete mess at Tennessee. My man, we might not even win 3 games in Freeze's second season.

Freeze is doing things his way and there is nothing we can do about that. How coaches normally behave in the second year means very little at this point. If Freeze cared to fill out some wins I am sure he would have done things differently.

Hugh has been a HC at the FBS level for 12 years now and has never developed a HS QB he has recruited.
