but he also got waxed by Tulane with a better class.

Golesh took over a 1-11 USF team while Sumrall took over a 11-3 (8-0) Tulane team.

What about Sumrall getting waxed by 6-6 UTSA this year that almost cost Tulane a CFP berth?

In order of likelihood I would wager in this order
-Sumrall has the highest bust likelihood, Golesh excels
-Both Golesh and Sumral bust
-Sumrall excells/ Golesh busts

It would take the NCAA doing a slick rule change to stop Golesh's offense from clicking but I cant figure out what they could possibly ban.

He basically runs the Gus nascar but the up tempo play is rarely a run up the gut.

I wonder if a deaf OLineman being refereed by the REC could stop it?

This could work. In this era of legally paying players, who’s to say that the REC isn’t paying this kid to jump early on purpose?

Notes from On3 on recruits

The new staff is quickly making decisions on offensive players as seen yesterday. Falzone and Hepi out. No longer looks like Auburn will pursue 3* RB Cooper Crosby - not a fit for the offense.

JLee thinks Auburn will try to flip a few USF commitments:
3* OL Mykall Lundy-Foster
3* QB Rhys Brush

OL commitments Zierer and Pritchett are priorities for the class. They like Kentrell White at TE. Matthews is a priority and they're looking to get 3* WR Spencer's commitment today.

Probably won't pursue 3* TE Kekau Aumua that just OV'd last weekend.

Toodle and Wilkes are locked in no matter who the DC will be. Guys like 4* DL Corey Wells, 3* Tavian Branch, and the rest of the defensive targets probably depend on Durkin staying

I like that they seem decisive and not willing to just throw a broad net, taking any recruit they can get.

During the interview process he was asked about roster retention.....he pulled out a spreadsheet with who he would keep, who would go, and Im assuming who would need a haircut if they wanted to remain on the team.

What are you trying to say Jville? Just because the defensive coordinator has to tell the OL coach to take out the 17 year old kid who got his arse handed to him for the entire game and replace him with a 5th year kid.....the OL coach perhaps does not have a clue?

You just might be right

Kail Ellis will be a good one, just not right now and he may need therapy, along with that AA HS kicker who we ruined when we rushed him out for that clusterfrick of a quick kick, he was never the same.

Jeff Lee doesn’t think Drago is going after any of the USF commits except for the TE that flipped. Obviously, TE is in dire need of a complete overhaul, so no harm in adding that kid.

I don't think Hugh is a bad coach, I think Hugh is a coach who was done. I think he orchestrated a way to get himself 3 years, do the minimum to last that long, get a buyout and walk away with 20 million. To me that is worse than being a bad coach, that is being a bad human being. We, as a University, got fooled by a filthy, sick, used car salesman. Wouldn't put it past him to have created the cancer story to get his money and see if we are dumb enough to give him sympathy on his way out with stolen millions

I think last year broke him TBH and he checked out after. Everything i've heard, the weird coaching decisions he made (not going to QB meetings and shite like that) wasn't anything new. However towards the end of last year, there was a noticeable shift in his effort towards recruiting. He was burning the midnight oil on the trail year 1 and year 2. This year, not at all. I thinkt he cancer diagnosis and last year just completely took him out of things and he mailed it in from then on.

I was one of his biggest supporters, which sucks now, but I have a really hard time believing it wasn't more sinister than that.

If he really was honest, and needed time, he would have asked for it. It has been done for coaches in other places before. I think asking, risking us giving it, and him extending his time here didn't fit his agenda.

Then he trots his daughter, who I assume got an Auburn degree for free, out there to insinuate WE treated her daddy like shite during his time of need.

If you think about it the whole thing was diabolical

People forget he just signed a 40M contract with Liberty when we hired him. He wasn't looking for Money.

Liberty is a Christian school. He didn't want to steal from them, doesn't fit his phony image
