Outside of firing coaches......

What needs to happen to generate some excitement this season? If you look at today’s box score, it would say a back and forth game that came down to the last play. However, the game just felt flat.

What say you?

Just do what you are good at. Gus needs to follow that formula. The offensive line is a huge part of that and it is still a big work in progress. We ran it like 1999 today but next week will be much harder.

But we need to establish the rushing game with Bo and Tank along with Shivers in there every now and then.

Do what you are good at, the easy passing game will open up then

There won’t be any excitement because we all know the eventual outcome of this season and every single one remaining on the CGM contract.

The team looked pretty excited last night in the locker room. Who saw that as well?

Some of you would be miserable even if we were undefeated. You just cant enjoy things.

I dont care about all that BS. It was fun to win. Regardless

Yep. Got to win these type games at home.

This is as good a chance of beating LSU as ever, with so many of the guys from last year gone.

But I will say this...I watched some of the LSU/USC game last night, and LSU handled them fairly well.

That FR QB for LSU looked really good running the team.

And it depressed me too, to see a great offense called game with even a True Freshman QB, that threw slants, curls, back shoulder throws.

..and the play calling was what I dreamed of for us.
I believe they are using the offense Brady installed last year, and the announcers said it is patterned after the Saints offense.

I dont have an issue with that. The main rub with Gus is he seems to over think. Saban came out last week and discussed how modern football is high powered offense and porous D. For some reason, Gus went away from what he ushered in.

ETA

Gus lacks the ability to evaluate his team pre-season, understand their strengths, and put them in a situation to win.

Correct.

It’s not up to the fans to generate excitement. It’s up to the coaches to put their players in the best position to win.

Auburn fans love the town of Auburn, the college, the players, and the culture. We support our programs and don’t bash people for making mistakes (Vaughn missing 5 FG’s in Baton Rouge or Obamanu dropping the TD vs Ole Miss).

The only way to dampen the excitement and support of Auburn’s fan base is for a coach to not improve his team over time.

What needs to happen to generate excitement in Auburn football is not something that the fan base can control.

Start beating our rivals, stop losing to crap teams, and give us hope.

Win games and be competitive in the games we loose. I hate when we seem to just give up. Also, how about stopping the screens, so predictable. I am not a coach but when I know who is getting the ball each play it is crazy. Winning makes things better.
