Frost has been here, what, three years? If he can't win the job now, he'll be a career backup.
I agree that he should be farther along, but has any defensive player that's on the team now shown any kind of consistency in the past 3 years? No one has. I think it's partly that this is the third DC and defensive scheme they've had in 3 years and the last staff just didn't develop them at all. So yes, Frost should at least have a higher overall football IQ at this point, I can't fault him for not being consistent when he's on his third defense in as many years.

I bet Frost wins the spot opposite Hollands... will also be interesting to see if Flowers can make a push for one of the spots. Still a long way to go before people consider this thing over

Keep in mind the D is on thier third DC in three years and are learning a new scheme as well.
We will need to outscore most this year I feel.

These guys need to show something this season. I'm personally done with the excuses.

quote:I was not talking percentage wise. I was talking raw yards and TDs. I think 5 TDs is very attainable and close to 1000 yards is possible.
JD McKissic's stats work out to 54% of the yards & 63% of the TDs our entire passing game produced last year. I'd be stunned if anyone, much less a freshman, put up those kinds of numbers for us.
I know we expect Gus to be a QB whisperer, but it would be quite the revolution for our passing game to step forward quite that far.
Besides you are comparing the wrong things. His stats to what we did last year. We will have a better passing game than lasyt year. His stats were worth 30% of their receiving yards and 20% of their TDs. Those %s are attainable for a breakout freshman.

What's wrong with looking at the ball when the ball is out of your hands? The QB in this picture is doing the same thing and I'm sure #6 isn't KF.
I doubt KF looks at the ball while it is in his hands. He watches the flight of the ball probably like most QBs.

JJ has released the ball long enough where the ball should be in his vision as he looks at his target in that pic. To answer your question looking at the ball on release is a fundamental big no no. at the point of release your eyes should be on where you want the ball to go. I have never seen a QB do what KF is doing as he releases the ball.

It looks like JJ just launched it without alot of control/aim...hail mary

I don't have the pics, but they've been posted on this board before...and yes he is looking at the ball as he releases it from his hand

That is seriously odd. I'm picturing myself throwing a football and yea, you watch the ball as its on the way to the guy, but literally never watched it while it was in my hand
It's unnatural and almost like you'd have to try to look at the ball while its in your hand

On Johnson's throw he is angling himself back for a longer throw, so it makes sense that his eyes would be where they are.
Frazier is doing it on short and intermediate throws, which is really bad. I could understand it if it only occurred on longer throws.

To me, I don't think he is looking at the ball in that particular photo. Looks more like he's looking down field. or at least checking out the girl in row 2.

Makes me wonder if he is trying to use mental telepathy to talk to the ball pleading with it to go where he needs it to.
