I could 100% see the defense slacking off. The offense looks like hot garbage and the defense has been the bright spot in every game (other than yesterday). The offense need to pull their weight and help keep them off the field. It's hard to wrap your head around the offensive struggles over the past 4-5 years. Honestly it has to fall back on coaching. Whether it is recruiting, play calling etc they need to get it figured out. I didn't think freeze would come in year one and put us in the sec championship but I figured he would have the team looking competitive and motivated. They really don't look like either right now.

The defense has been ok but let’s not pretend they’ve been elite. A&M and Georgia had their way with us for around 3 quarters and LSU most of the game

That Alabama team competed against everybody and he had the number 1 recruiting class.

We don’t have any talent. Gus quitting on the recruiting trail and then harsin.. here we are.

Freeze looked somewhere between depressed and shell shocked in the post game press conference. I hope that leads to some serious soul searching and major adjustments going forward.

The team just looked flat. After a little success with the running game (post Keystone Cops first possession), LSU looked like they knew exactly what the offense was going to do.

Validates my point even more. if you look at the results on the 2008 team. We’re starting all over. My only regret is Bryan Harsin wasn’t fired sooner. I can’t imagine where this program would be if we hadn’t

This. And on the sidelines he had a very “wtf am I supposed to do with these guys” demeanor going on.

Agreed and it kinda pisses me off. The auburn job seems to do this to every coach except Gus because he was basically a robot

We look poorly coached, but did anybody really think we were going to Baton Rouge and winning this year?

About 35% did.

I wanted him fired for cause when we had the huge player/coach exodus. My understanding from the time was the whole "investigation" had to do with his treatment of players/coaches/admin and not his affair.

The defense has played well enough that we should be a 1 or 2 loss team right now including potentially a win over Georgia. I'll take that.

We are severely lacking pass rushing DLine.

I predicted 48-13 in the prediction thread. Getting blown out in Baton Rouge is a familiar sight for me now that I’m in my 30’s

Right now we are playing street ball in the toughest conference in the country.
This will take time. They will look like world beaters one week, then look like the ladie’s garden club the next.
Be patient and give them two years to recruit. They are repairing the trash left by Gus followed by Hardin.

Yep I am in my 30s too. We are grizzled and wisdomous to be so young.

You're more dramatic than any of the 3 times my wife was pregnant and giving home births with no pain medication. Congratulations.

Yeah, that is one of those words that I added to the dictionary. Sometimes it goes like that.

I will say this is the longest stretch of my lifetime now without a legitimately good season. I’m starting to feel it. 6 seasons since we had a really good team. 2019 wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about.

We'll be fine as long as we keep the recruits we have committed and Hugh continues crootin at a high level.

It's all about the players. AU has none on offense that would start for any other SEC team (outside of Battie and Cobb).
