Being mad at him when your HC is a complete joke is definitely a take

I’ve always thought Damari was mediocre at best, but not a good sign when a “captain” quits mid season.

Cobb clearly has run better.

If they are in the 2 deep then frick them too. Transfer after the season, but quitting on your teammates mid season is selfish as frick. Freeze might suck, but you're never going to win with a bunch of selfish quitters in your locker room. When your captain is the first person to quit it shows you have a soft locker room.

quote:frick Freeze too. I'm not defending him. He's the one who let him be the starting RB when he was never good enough and made him captain when he's clearly soft and selfish.

The way Hugh answered about DA, "Yeah Damari failed to meet the expectations and standards... We wish him the best, we love him but that's where it's at."

Amen. These men are getting paid out in the open. They need to play football for AU or return the money. Yes, Freeze should be fired immediately, but these players are mercenaries and should be treated as such.

Nah. Quitters deserve as much ridicule as Freeze. Quitting on your team mid-season is the most selfish, feminine thing in sports.

Anyone with eyes can tell Cobb is better. I'm sure that played a factor.

regardless of the reasons, optics of this couldn’t be worse
guy was popular enough with his teammates to be voted captain
word is he quit, but Freezus implies he was dismissed
sounds like the working definition of “losing the team”

He had 7 carries
This is one of the biggest issues. Why would any RB want to play for a HC that would rather throw it every down?

He was the back up and getting less than 2 yards per carry.. how many runs should he have gotten?

It is mind-boggling that Freeze, and the staff as a whole sometimes, refuses to stick with what works. In the UGA game, we were getting chunks running on the edge with the RBs and up the middle with Arnold while UGA was in man and vacated the middle of the field.
The 2nd half? They just tried to slam Cobb between the guards or run QB power when they decided we could try running the ball again. It makes no sense how every other team can have a gameplan that looks competent. Or when it doesn't work, they can make adjustments. It looks like our coaches are just picking plays out of the "coach's suggestions" menu on Playstation.

enough to get going. I haven't looked, but I bet our QB leads the team in rushing. That is not a formula for success in this league.

He won’t be the last one.
Going to suck when a bunch of the young guys on defense start leaving. Melendez, J Smith, A Williams, Autry, riddick..etc.
frick freeze.

quote:Its been 4 years and he hasn't got going yet. Freeze big mistake at RB was not bringing in a real transfer to be the starter. Cobb is good, but not every down starter good, he's a change of pace guy. Instead he gifted Damari the job and brought in a scrub from UConn.
enough to get going.
But you are right that he doesn't run enough in general.

paraphrasing Zac Blackerby: "I'm sure (Cobb) can handle the 11 carries he'll get against Missouri" .

wait, you are the one wanting to leave the SEC because they are being mean to us.
If you have paid any amount of attention to football, RB's like to get carries so they can get going. DA has 32 carries, on the season, for 128 yards. That is 4 YPC. Meanwhile, our QB has 83 carries on the year. GIVE THE frickING RB'S THE FOOTBALL. We need 3" on the goal line and try to go over the top. Brilliant!
ETA People always accused Gus of having a "Mickey Mouse" O. I beg to differ. We are watching a "Mickey Mouse" O right before our very eyes.
