Not sure that matters very much the way MC recruits. Go look at the class they just signed yesterday. He is a beast on the recruiting trail.

This a-hole has copy and pasted this same post in multiple threads here and on the Rant.

Tony Elliott will be an excellent person to interview for PR and CYA purposes. Unless Mario fills that void as a Cuban-American.

NFL...Realizing you are a bad fit...

Building a program. Hmmm

Dude, go read what their own fans say. Chip Kelly rightfully wanted a raise and they wouldn't give it to him. Lane Kiffin made more than him at USC than Kelly was making while dominating. Who loses a coach one year after hiring him?

That school can come nowhere near any SEC power in terms of the actual FOUNDATION for dominance. The program is bleeding money and just had to hold a meeting to approve a paltry extension on Cristobal. Go look at a map of where NFL talent comes from; hint: its nowhere near Oregon. Where are all the best assistants and recruiters? The SEC.

There are a million reasons why Cristobal was rightfully interested in this job. We fricked it up like we always do, because of something that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual attractiveness of our program and what we can offer and sell.

Right, now how much do you think he would be licking his chops to coach at an SEC power who could:

A) Allow him to build his dream staff of recruiters. Zero questions.
B) Zero questions in terms of commitment to providing the best of everything: off field staff, recruiting budget, etc, etc.
C) You're situated in the absolute middle of 90% of the football talent in the country. And have built in access to all of them.

He's an elite recruiter so yes - he'll go out and get the elite kid in Utah, Arizona, Hawaii, etc. as you're seeing him do. But like most elite recruiters he knows where the real "game" is. The difference is that you can throw a rock from Auburn's campus in any direction and hit an elite recruit. Any program that has no instate talent is by definition fighting an uphill battle.

Unpopular opinion. I dont think we offered. Too disorganized from our end. I legit think our admins thought Steele was the replacement.

They literally lost their last coach to Florida State with no fight. They let Chip Kelly walk while he was dominating. That extension they gave Cristobal is an offer that we can beat with our eyes closed.

This is all true. How did AU, an Sec west team frick this one up?

Don't assume we even offered. That's the problem with all the fricktards on the rant.
I don't know if we did or didn't, but to say he turned us down is ingenuous at best.

There is another option you and all of us may need to consider.

Auburn just may not be as attractive if a job as some think.

We have not attracted a big name coach. Like in any of our life times. Auburn has a lot of baggage. People do not want to admit it but it does. Coaches do not want problems when they take over a program.

In my opinion, Oregon is a way easier job and has just as much sex appeal as auburn.
Preach brother Preach...We are the non-named state school in a smaller state that is looked down upon in the state by the media etc. We have PTB interjecting into the program, we have a good ole boy system that meddles and won't get out of the way. We really don't demand excellence so it really isn't that attractive compared to a state school. I am not saying we can't be but right now just because we are in the SEC doesn't mean squat or else if that was the criteria then every coach would be going for any open position. We have got to have commitment and not just money in order to take us up there to the next level.

I don't believe for a minute that we didn't offer unless our incompetent idiots dragged their feet/fricked up in this political trainwreck.

I’m beginning to think our boosters might be worst than the Texas boosters/board.

Very similar. They have always put their own self interests/thirst for power ahead of success. They will never get out of the way.
