Per Hoke,

“In the last three games, Auburn's defense is allowing an average of 264 yards of offense in the first half, but only 112 yards of offense in the second half. Against Penn State and LSU, the Auburn D basically cut the opponents production in half in the second half.”

The first quarters have been extremely frustrating but last night gave me hope that maybe things are finally clicking with guys. Last night the defense cut the offenses production by 22-30% each quarter, which means they went from giving up 129 yards in the first quarter to only giving up 54 in the fourth. They also only gave up 1-10 passes of 15 yards or more.

I agree but one of the things that frustrates the hell out of me is how our guys are looking to the sideline for the alignment.

The only thing that helped was how slow the play calling to Max was slower even though LSU was lined up. It almost looked like LSU waited to hike the ball till we got in position.

Who would have ever thought we would hold LSU to 11 yards rushing?

It was a good win. I did not see as many busts, but this year is still a painful learning process for the D.

We have to stop making every qb look like an NFL prospect in the first half.

That’s a great point. Really curious to see how the defense does against UGA. They went old school against Arkansas and had their way, but haven’t always run the ball well. That’s the one thing our defense has been fairly consistent at (white boy from Ga State excluded).

I am just going to enjoy this week.

And hope for a miracle that day.

We are constantly late to lineup… it’s frustrating.

Definitely.

Did we have any major injuries last night?

I have zero hope in the offense to do anything against them. We haven’t a defense close to what they have this year. But I’m just curious to see how we handle a really good old school offense.

That was the case even late in the game, even on LSU's last possession. And there couldn't have been too much subbing since most of the subs were out of the game.

I will say that the DBs either figured out the routes better and followed the WRs closer, or there was just enough pressure to make Johnson think a little more on his passing options.

I was also surprised Wooden wasn't in on that last play. It looked like we rushed 4 with 29 as a spy for some reason, but when Johnson started to slide outside Hall finally attacked and forced the throw to off target.

Omg I was screaming at my TV last night for them to get lined up. There was a stretch in the 3rd qtr where they snapped the ball 3 straight plays and we weren't set. If LSU had any run game they could have gashed us several times due to the fact we couldn't get set quick enough.

Gotta get better at getting the call in.

Is Bennett going to be their QB? If so, then they will be really old school because Kirby doesn't seem to want him throwing it much at all.
