I'm still mad about Saturday and trying to get my mind right for sec + ncaa tournament. I see we're still the favorite on fanduel to win the national championship. I just don't think you can win a natty when you can't trust you're second best player. But someone convince me otherwise

Lot of Auburn fans would be disappointed if we only made it to the Elite 8. Likewise those same people chew on crayons and missed the reality of the world altogether. This season has been successful despite our flaws. We ran out of NIL and couldn't get a quality backup 4 and we failed to bring in a quality PG. We are rolling with what we got: lowly ranked dudes from juco, Moorhead State, UAH, FAU, and so on, and punched above our weight. Stop making game threads and hope for the best.

I honestly don’t think fans that think Natty or bust understand the NCAA tournament. The best team does not always win.

We have a good enough squad to do it.

Would it suck not to make it past the Sweet 16, yes? But this season has already been super successful.

Just stay healthy during the SEC tourney and hope to get hot with good matchups in the NCAA’s.

So what you're saying is even though we have been unanimously ranked #1 this year longer than anyone else, the top seed in the tournament, and we have the college co-player of the year along with other top players in the country, but we should be okay with not making it past the Sweet16?

We have more talent and depth than anyone, even missing out on that quality backup 4 or whatever. We have fine PGs too. Which PG on the roster isn't quality enough that we needed to bring in a quality PG? TP has cooled off a little. He's had some bad plays lately and TOs.

Pearl's teams seem to peak early in the season. 2019 peaked at the exact right time.

Auburn is gonna have something to play for now.

The excited and motivated Auburn team is all time great. The bored uninterested Auburn team gets lazy and looks like just a top 10 to 15 team.

That's why they did so well in Maui and against everyone until we won the SEC.

We will know early in the SEC tournament what kinda post season team we will be. I think the team will have something to play for and play hard for it.

We are clearly matchup dependent. Are you so sure Pearl can get the better of A&M's coach? I am not. A
sweet 16 loss would suck but that is why you go get conference championships beforehand.

I haven’t really seen the peaks and valleys from this team everyone else seems to have seen. We’ve been really dang good all season other than the one pathetic performance on the road against A&M coming off the clinching game at Rupp.

It's possible to understand the chaotic nature of the tournament and still expect this team to make a run and be disappointed if we don't. Two of the last three years we were upset by a significant underdog. For that to happen again with our most accomplished team ever would be a massive letdown. Anything short of the final 4 would be a disappointment, anything less than the elite 8 pretty an unacceptable disaster, if we don't make it out of the first weekend burn it all down

We can absolutely beat A&M but they are a bad matchup for us. I hope we see them Saturday

We've pretty much been pathetic against A&M, anywhere.

Yes but that was a non competitive effort on the boards. If we are simply competitive defensive rebounding in that game we could have won even despite their unusually decent shooting day

With healthy Denver, yes.

I'd rather they get upset. Bigger and more physical teams are tough and even if we win will probably have to sweat it out.

We either have to lose early or win it all.

No in between.

Denver would indirectly have helped the rebounding issues in that game by slowing down the dribble drive which kept pulling Cardwell and Broome away from the rim to contest layups and dunks

Denver is a decent rebounder but his job is forcing initial misses.

Would definitely suck. Especially if it was to a team team that we match up well against to boot... But the regular season champions still sticks. And I will cherish that hardware. I can count on many fingers Duke losing as the favorite under K.

We didn’t necessarily need to win the rebounding battle in that game or any game but can’t have the other team rebound 60% of their misses.
