And we were all hoping Shivers may raise the execution level this week, so it was a letdown.
I'm a Bo naysayer and a UGA hater so I admit my natural tendency would be to throw Bo under the bus after a beatdown by my most hated rival.
But after those early couple of drives where he was horrendous, he settled in a lot and took what he was given, usually executing fairly well. I've been equally split between team dropped pass and team bad QB all year, but this game firmly moved me over to the "blame the WRs camp". It was just ridiculous to watch.

If half of our drops had been caught this season, the same folks calling for Bo's head would be calling him a top 2 or 3 SEC QB (which he would be) and this season would be going very differently. I'm tempted to literally go back and note the literal-season-changing drops that should have been caught by "SEC caliber" WRs...
This is a ridiculous conversation...

I think Bo is overall a pretty average SEC QB, especially considering he’s started over 25 games, but the WR and OL are both well below average. I’m fine with Bo starting because he gives us the best chance to win, however I don’t see him as a guy that really raises our ceiling a ton, he moreso raises the floor.

I honestly think most SEC quarterbacks would be broken by now if they played for us. We should have so many more sacks tbh.
People may not like hearing this but he is our best hope of winning the remaining games.
We need to mine the hell out of the transfer portal. OL and WR.

I agree with the last 5 posts. The bellyaching because he cannot turn chicken shite into chicken salad w/o giving the chicken shite the proper attention is mind boggling.
We just fired a WR coach and we are still having issues there. We even had trouble getting lined up one play.
Every dang facet of the game on both sides is underwhelming right now.
Coaching seems okay but I’m wait and see for now. Coaching could seem okay only because Harsin oversees the game more and is less immersive into the game plan than we are used to. That’s fine and I’m receptive to it, but that kind of coaching requires athletes to do their job on the field. Bobo’s vertical game plan stinks. Not sure what to think there. I’ve seen Nix hit a streaking receiver many times and that’s one tool we are just stubbornly not using.

OL and RBs are fine. That loss was all Bo.
Wait, I'm confused here.
I thought you had been supportive of Bo overall.
I am surprised you blame this all on Bo. If you're being sarcastic, send us an emoji.

No?
You hate street ball. You must hate Pat Mahomes.
Remember, you can’t win big games doing that kind of stuff.
You can be productive with streetball at times, but the difference w/ a guy like Mahomes, is he has great skill players he can get the ball to.
We don't have anything close to that outside of Shenker, and sometimes Hudson. The rest are settling into avg playmakers.

Good take and I agree

Its all Bo Nix's fault. smh

The frick it was, they loved our OL tenderly in both our ability to run block and pass protect

Agreed.
I’d point to the drops (drop for the Int) as the ultimate killers… especially momentum. Not sure what it was like in attendance, but at home it looked deflating.

Can we not run some more read option with him and Tank/Hunter? Seems like that would cause fits.
Or have we tried? I will say this, I am never going to say we don’t throw to the tight end again.
I would put pine tar, gorilla glue, and asphalt tar on the receivers’ gloves and still expect them to drop passes for a net of 120 yards left on the field. I have never seen so many drops of a collegiate team in my life.

Bro we are just half way done with the season and PFF has assigned 23 drops. I think that’s even a little light on that number. Just say it goes on with the average it would be up to 46. To put in perspective we had 18 drops last year.
46!! 4-6!!! That is about 2 games worth of completions.

SecStatCat site has all the relevant stats on Bo. 179 drop yards so far this year.

That is gross, pathetic, and unacceptable on ANY level of organized football. My sons’s 5th coach would have had a reckoning practice the likes of what the 300 Spartans would fear.
