No we don’t. Why would Auburn fans get emotionally invested under Gus anymore? Been there, done that. Auburn can choose to keep Gus but it’s up to Gus to do better than the 8-5 and 9-4 “special” seasons if he wants support to return. He is putting himself into a hole.

GusShortBus made us quit. Quite the feat for a once passionate and proud fan base. Reminds me of the gumps during the Shula years.

Not a ton of suspense when the 2021 ceiling is 9-3 and the floor is 7-5.

Floor is 7-5?

Ole Miss and Arkansas are improving, and Mike Leach won’t allow his team to suck for long. LSU will be back, Alabama and Georgia will pound us, etc. 7-5 is no longer the floor.

Love for Auburn football is almost gone because of Gus.

Cole has not read this board. Our pitchforks are sharp and ready to go.

Fans need to get their edge back

I read this totally different than some of you.

First this link isn't even the title or a quote in the article.

The article is about Cole's thoughts and PF's thoughts.

Cole was saying if the results and the lack of Auburn fans reactions are what surprises him. He says he is not getting many angry fans calling in, so he is wondering if they are a little more accepting.

OFC, the answer is NO...I think if there is less calling in of angry fans it is bc those calls have been coming in off and on now for at least the last 5-6 years.

This year is different bc of Covid. We are not at games to sound off our frustration, or lack of fans at the games as we continue to lose games, since we can't go anyway.

It is also maybe a little with the buyout issue and the lost revenues Auburn will have to recover from. Many on here do talk like they expect him back bc of these parameters, so maybe that has subdued the talk some.

But there is plenty who are now ready to cut Gus loose.

And on Finebaum's comments...who cares!

What? People are apathetic about a half arse season with a half arse coach? Shocking

Apathy dominates this fan base and program now. The we can't do any better, it might get worse, we are who we are, we are doing what we have always done historically , he beats Alabama every now and then, 6-4 is a solid season crowd settles for this.
Malzahn has done this. Offense still sucks, recruiting is terrible, no excitement and No expectations. This is what you are getting for 7 million dollars per year. He is in his eighth season!

Can anyone name anything positive that this program has going for it right now? I can't.

Cole... if they keep him we will be between .500 and 8 wins at best next year. He pads his stats against the bottom tier of the SEC and typically 3 directional schools each season. Bottom line is he is not competitive for championships and we the AU fan base are tired of investing in a crap product.

There is no “edge” to recover from apathy, Cole.

6-4. No cupcakes to pad the win column.

This was an exhibition season.

Saved wear and tear on the stadium for a year. Added ten years to the life of the stadium.

Next season the grass will be great enough to sleep on.
