I would be happy with this hire.
This is his first season at Marquette that he didn't produce a tournament team. I think he would be a heck of a recruiter as well.
Thoughts?

Williams is in the top 10 nationally in salary... Damn
He inherited a great situation from Crean... Not sure how he'd do with our dumpster fire.

That really only applies to the first couple of years on the job. After that, it's your players, your team. Marquette made the deepest run in Williams' tenure just last year, his fifth year. That didn't have a thing to do with Crean.
Buzz can coach. I would be fine with Buzz as long as Pearl has told us no twice. I REALLY want Bruce.

The thread title is extremely misleading. While BW may end up getting the job there is no indication that BW to AU has picked up any steam. The only thing that has been reported is JJ would like to interview him per Bryan Matthews. With Marquette not in post season play that interview could happen soon if BW wants to interview.

Could do well in our crappy conference, his teams are hard to watch sometimes. He could get us to the tourney though.

Changing conferences and tv revenue sharing contracts, a down year and generally paying him too much money may mean that Marquette administration isn't too fond of paying him that every year.
Could be that they want him to leave.

He relies heavily on recruiting jucos and transfers. I have heard that the powers at Marquette aren't happy with some of the players that he has brought in. I guess if he has inroads to jucos and relies on transfers it could help with Auburn's lack of presence in the AAU circuit. Could be one of the reasons AU is looking at him.

He was on nobodys radar to begin with and now we want to interview him. That equals picking up steam. DWI
