This is might be true but no point in even talking about it. That stuff isn’t going away. Who is the hire we can make in the situation we have at hand? Sonny Dykes? Maybe go get an up and comer and pray they are the next Saban?

It's not the same thing, Tuberville had a great record, that's what made it so embarrassing.
I expect them to do what's best for the program, whatever that may be.

Someone on the TAMU board posted Jimbos record vs the west. It separates average coaches/players. You can have success in the ACC/MW/PAC but get your arse kicked by Lil ole MSU. 100MM for this
MSU: 2-3
Ole Miss: 2-1
Alabama: 1-3
Auburn: 2-2
Arkansas: 4-1
LSU: 2-2

People forget bad Tubs. It would be similar to Harsin pulling in a few top 5 classes then promoting Friend to OC. Tubs deserved to be fired. Bobby P was an elite coach at the time. He would have been dangerous.

TIL that, in 4+ seasons in College Station, Jimbo has exactly 6 wins vs teams that finished the season ranked in the AP Top 25.
For comparison purposes, Harsin had 2 in his first 8 games at AU.
How in the hell did they think it was a smart business move to extend his deal AND give him a $2million a year raise, FULLY GUARANTEED, just before last season started??

Jimbo’s record is no better than Sumlin’s and they are paying him almost twice as much.

At least we can take comfort in not being the dumbest ones in the room.
Jimbo was probabaly a week away from getting canned by FSU

What about Sonny Dykes' offensive coordinator? Lincoln Riley's brother

Other than 2013 his coaching career has been a dumpster fire. Even at FSU
I never understood why he got 100 mil

I don't want no discount Riley

He actually had a bunch of success at FSU. Obviously not a Saban or anything but he was the closest thing to a "sure bet" type of hire in the college ranks. Had a handful of division championships, 1-2 conference titles and a national title. A guy like that isn't usually hireable from a powerhouse program.

Outside of Jameis years, he had a couple of good seasons but also some very mediocre seasons. However annoying you may find him or dislike him, Jameis was a very very very good college qb who only lost one game as a starter. He made jimbo look really good.
