Not the way to look at it. The PTB fabricated a story about Harsin having an affair, the same people that don’t want Freeze went along with destroying Harsin over a lie.

That was the OM company line, that all of the violations were from the Nutt era. But eventually the NCAA handed out a new NoA and all but like 3 things were linked directly to Freeze.
And the whole reason they were on campus was because of the women's basketball team, which made it easy for the NCAA to broaden the scope of the investigation.
Let's face it, you'd have to pretty naïve to think any HC is directing payoffs to players. It's always the boosters. No coach in their right mind wants to be anywhere near those kind of discussions. Their role is just to identify players they want on the team.

There is still names out there that would be a better hire than Lane and Rhule. Luke Fickle for example. For all we know, he could have been the target the whole time.
