No, it looks like Cohen was not capable of clearing all hurdles with Kiffin early on, but still let the situation linger.

Without the deal wrapped up, Kiffin gets all touchy feely, and it appears we are now shoehorning Freeze into the best situation that AU football has been in.
If we are "negotiating" with Freeze, we just need to burn it all down. Also AU will continue to be divided. Awesome.

He is at Liberty playing P5 schools every other week with 3rd and 4th string QBs. VT may not be the VT of old but they are better than schools like liberty on bad years and would have been labeled an upset. He played WF within a few points and they were top 25 at the time. He beat Arkansas and even beat BYU worse than Oregon could. All with liberty players. He lost to a Liberty tier school after spending all season with a target on their back and a 3rd string QB. Give Kiffin his 3rd string QB and see what he does this year.

All the haters keep using the P5 schools and are trying to compare Liberty to what would be done at a P5 school says alot for how much he has raised up Liberty. They are still a small school competing with bigger schools because his coaching. Losing to VT is not a upset game because you want to compare them to Auburn and OM.

Why does it matter what we pay him?

What big time program was ready to hire Bruce after his show-cause was up? Bet a whole bunch of school wished they'd took that chance now.

Freeze has a past, this is well documented. He's been clean as a whistle since he left Ole Miss and he built a program up from FCS and put players in the NFL. Time to get on board with your next coach. I'm optimistic now for the first time, in a very long time.
