Just FYI, non of our message boards have changed their opinion. Lane is still coming. I would think one of them would have Intel if something screwy was up.

Also even if the OM insiders are telling the truth, all Kiffin said was "I'm staying until something changes my mind".
He isn't going to tell his team he's leaving before an important rivalry game

The chatter tonight out of Mississippi is that the deal has “hit a snag,” as a couple people have told me, but I haven’t had anyone actually explain the alleged snag to me. Or even speculate thoughtfully about what it could be. My INTERPRETATION of that, and it’s only an interpretation, is that it’s a ploy to buy time until the Egg Bowl on Thursday night.

And then minutes later he created the Hugh Freeze thread just two days after saying he didn’t get a sense of Freeze being involved in the coaching search.

Reminding everyone …
1- Kiffin has not signed an extension with OM. Wouldn’t he do that if he was staying?
2- Kiffin would not tell his players the night before their rivalry game he was leaving. That would be stupid.
3- Everyone reporting on this is including the stipulation of “unless something changes” which is a very weird and specific detail to include which provides a “way out” of Kiffin’s promise, if you will.
Happy thanksgiving guys.
Trying to remain calm and logical until this weekend. Now if we introduce Jeff Grimes on Sunday… I’ll probably be done for a while.

If Lane does stay at Ole Piss, we have to move quickly. I think Hugh is the backup plan for the entire process. Others Franklin, Fickell and others are on the list.

Yeah I’m gonna be done for a while if we settle for anyone less than Kiffin. There are other hires which I think are as good or better. But if we settle for someone less I will be really disappointed. I thought this time could be different.
