Josh Pate just did his Auburn spot.
He said he talked to several "dialed in" people from Auburn. They told him three main things: Kiffin is in play, Freeze is not in play, and to watch out for a "shock" hire. They gave him 2 names who Pate said would "move the needle to 10." Pate didn't want to reveal the names on air, but did say it would be similar to the Brian Kelly situation at LSU (a big hire from a winning program no one expected). He said it would shock AU people as much as the schools these guys would be leaving.
Legit? Who knows, but it's fun to speculate. And if true, I am glad Cohen is trying to go big.

Would y’all rather have Franklin or Kiffin? I’m really not sure. I dislike Franklin because he always beats us and looks like a baked bean with glasses, but does seem like a good coach.

Yeah basically just throwing out names. Day would be the only one of those that would move the needle to 10 for me anyways

I have no clue. But everyone is putting out click bait. Kind of like the affair story in Feb. One site can always say it was another site.

Yes, and his buyout for any school not named Bama is $6M. He’s now making $11.5M a year and his buyout if he’s fired isn’t quite reaching Jimbo Fisher levels, but its still around $65M.
Dabo makes $200k less than Saban and $250k more than Kirby so Auburn would have to make him THE highest paid coach in CFB.

Dabo isn't worth it. If Gus and Dabo switched places, years ago, we'd have fired Dabo and Gus would be making bank at Clempson. Dabo is in a one team league.

Agreed. He’s flourished in a weak conference with two generational talents at QB.
Kinda like Fisher. Only thing is Dabo is more CEO and does let his coordinators do their jobs.
