I don’t understand how we could go through what we did the last 2 years and then bring in a guy who basically has 1 year coaching experience and it being in div2. I don’t care how much swag he has.
That is just ludicrous.

Who are our realistic options Lanier? We are obviously going to do our due diligence collectin no’s from the Kiffins and Aranda and what not first butif the first tier is no option where do you go?
Are you gonna go after Muschamp or some other option that looked like a great pick a decade and a half go?

We don’t really have people advocating for Clarke again do we?
If so, can those tell me how you think his recruiting will go against our SEC rivals.

The only people who should tell Bill Clark he's a good football coach is his family, and that's only because they have to

I think people forget that you never said Deion is the ideal candidate, only that you think he'd be the best choice of our limited, realistic options

Clark checks one of the boxes extremely well.
[Auburn doesnt give a frick]

Did you miss the facts above about Deion vs Clark? All Clark has done that Deion hasn't is have a shitty recruiting class

Yall do realize we haven't even fired Harsin yet? There is no credible info we will. Expect the worst; hope for the best.

Right. Deion is only a gamble considering the options we have. A gamble that would at least excite the fanbase and bring some players starting day one.

You’re right. But it will happen unless he pulls off huge upsets. Imo if we lose to Missouri or even struggle and then get handled at home vs lsu he’s gone after that game.

Step 1. Hire someone to fire the current coach.
Step 2. Hire the new coach.
Step 3. ?????
Step 4. Profit.

Well the guy who hired Harsin got fired. The guy who hired the guy who hired Harsin got fired. You're right Harsin is snug as a bug in a rug.

Exactly. 10 year 100 MM contract for Harsin inbound

Yeah, he has done exactly what needs to be done at Auburn: taken programs who were at, or near their lowest and got them turned around and competitive in relatively short time frames. Plus he never had the relaxed transfer rules to work under so theoretically he could turn is around quicker.
I'm not saying he would come win natties, but we gotta crawl before we run. He would be my top choice because he is exactly what Auburn needs right now.

I wonder if McGlyn was put in place to handle the nastiness of the firing and oversee the “coaching search”?

Rhule would be a fantastic hire

I think so too.

Deion could also bring some well respected NFL caliber coaches. Plus his recent tiny feud with Saban could bring interesting fuel to the IB.
