Peter’s Top 5 Auburn HC list:
1. Prime

2. Sonny Dykes
3. Kiffen
4. Hugh Freeze
5. Urban Meyer

ETA: I love this list and will ride with it the rest of the way.

Sorry to Corch, Jang, Poker, goose, Rabern, and Grimes for not making the list. Maybe next go round after Prime moves on to the Cowboys.

Jones will be #1 on the list for sure if we have to hire a special Starbucks Ambassador.

I had no hope of spelling that right, thus not making the list.

Has there been anything put out about using a search firm or forming a "search committee" like Auburn has done in the past? Or is this gonna be all on Cohen as his first action as AD?

There are two types of "search committees" that Auburn has traditionally engaged during searches:

1) The group made up of former Auburn legends or influential people (Bo Jackson and company).
2) The professional search firm.

Neither #1 nor #2 have ever really picked the coach at Auburn:

Group 1) These guys are just there to rubber-stamp a decision and shine whoever is chosen in a positive light to the fans. Bo Jackson barely watches or pays attention to college football, the idea that he's helping choose the HC is asinine.

Group 2) The professional search firm is more or less just there to run background checks on candidates. Again, these people aren't really picking anyone. They're given a group of names to investigate and they make sure there's nothing wonky that comes up.

The actual search and decision will run through Roberts and Cohen with obvious input from boosters. But at the end of the day, it's going to be up to Cohen and Roberts. Not Bo Jackson and not any professional firm.

I swear I know people that thought Bo and Pat and those folks were responsible for going out and getting Malzahn. I’ve tried to tell them that they are just there to put a happy face on the hire and garner support, but of course they are naive and won’t listen.

If we're actually looking at Grimes it means we fricked up the coaching search, again.

Does Grimes use a binder?

Could he bring Ed O in as defensive line coach?
