He had like a field header picture: the picture included Aranda, Hartline, Fickell, and Gundy, but field could mean anybody

If they hire Rhett I will be forced to send angry emails, using CAPS!

Id rather have Gus over Lashlee. Lashlee is is just a rebellious child that has no offense but wants to throw whenever he wants to just to spite Papa Gus.

Lashlee is having less success at SMU than Chad Morris had there

From Ross Dellengher:
Excitement or desperation rally???
quote:
Since John Cohen resigned as AD on Monday, Mississippi State's NIL collective has tripled its membership to 909 and has received $500,000 in new annual donations, officials tell @SINow. An amazing 72-hour surge.
The collective now has on hand well into seven figures.

Would have to know more info. One of the reasons I read were Cohen was interested in AU was because of our NIL.

If they lost him over NIL it’s probably a desperation rally.

Probably both. I don’t think Cohen was the most gifted at energizing MSU’s NIL fundraising. And I’m sure MSU fans are kinda bummed out that they’d lose a Mississippi State guy to another SECw program.
He won’t have to carry that load at Auburn. Auburn’s OTV collective has done really well on it’s own

I could swear I saw Auburn's NIL has raised double that since Harsin was fired. I can't find it now.

If they hired Rhett, I’ll be more pissed off than a sorority girl when she finds out you lied about there being a new pumpkin spice latte flavored White Claw just so you could get her back to your apartment.

You’d buy out every store in town wouldn’t you?

They are arguing that Cohen won’t do anything for NIL yet Auburn’s NIL collective raised more money in one month than State probably will in a 3-4 year period, all without an AD and a notoriously cautious interim known to not be a fan of NIL

I didn't really want to make a new thread because I'm sure it's been covered somewhere over the past few days in some thread here. But I'm also too lazy to go look for those conversations in the multiple new threads so I'll ask here:
Has there been anything put out about using a search firm or forming a "search committee" like Auburn has done in the past? Or is this gonna be all on Cohen as his first action as AD?
If there has been a committee formed, can someone post a link that I can read, or post the members who make it up.
Also, what's the feeling from y'all about a committee vs letting Cohen do what ADs do and go get his guy? I, personally, like the committee approach, because it has some accountability built in where one guy can't go rogue (looking at you, Allen Greene) and just hire whoever and nobody supports it. But I can also see the drawbacks of it where if there isn't a consensus, the potential coach being targeted can feel like there isn't "alignment" from the administration on down and makes them shy about pulling the trigger.
Idk, just a couple things I've been thinking about today.

Does it really matter the AD influence on NIL? Schools can’t pay. It is most important that PTB and all boosters are on board with NILand you have a coach that will use it to his advantage.
Just tell the AD to go put together some schedules.

If a collective wants to associate with the brand, then yes it matters bigly to get the AD approval.

Then Cohen better be 350% on board with it.
