I've said it a hundred times. Deion. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? So, to hire anyone but Deion is what? Insane?
I mean, 4 out of our last 5 hires went undefeated, won a NC or played for one.
You can say the times have changed, but it's not like Auburn is coming off a number of bad coaching hires in a row

Coming off almost 10 years of shite. Did these same assclown PTB hire all of those guys? Chizik did what anyone with Cam should have done. Gus with Marshall at QB that first year was the perfect QB for the system being run. Gus short circuited after the FSU loss.
Hell Tubbs needed 2 years with a 1st round QB, 2 1st round RBs, and a roster littered with NFL guys to do it.
Those 3 season were all the outliers though.

Exactly. Auburn wins with mediocre coaches (Harsin bucking the norm). It’s time to pair Auburn’s program that makes coaches better than they are with a coach that’s already good.

Or we get Deion, get really talented players across the board with NIL, hire a strong staff, and line up and just kick the shite out people?

Let’s just hope an AD is named tomorrow and announced on the field Saturday morning. One that price falls, the AD can be in these talks.
It’s time for AU to come together and pull in the same direction.

Ideally all that happens, then they set up everything used to introduce the AD pregame after the game, and use it for him to fire Harsin on his way to the locker room

I your house gets a sewage backup do you wait until the expert comes to take care or it or do you start working on damage control? We need to be doing the damage control now. Get rid of Harsin!!

quote:I don't know why people see Kiffin as a homerun hire. He has lost 1/3 of his games as a HC and ends up losing long term. He's had his chance at a big school with talent and failed. He has a couple good years then drops off. He still hasn't beaten anyone considered good (at this point) this year and everyone is singing him praises. The outside fan bases want him here because they know he won't likely succeed and in 2 or 3 years we will be right back where we are.
If we aren't going after a "homerun" hire like Kiffin/Aranda/Rhule

The fact players are leaving the way they are shows Harsin is doing something wrong besides just losing games. No bad team has players leaving like this.
The Athletic department better have a good reason for letting this go on. A possible new hire is seeing these players they could have leaving and talent overall dropping and making it harder on them to walk into. The difference now and end of year isn't a huge difference as far as buyout.

I'd much rather hire Dilly and give him a chance to grow into the job rather than hire a retread like Freezus or or a totally unproven guy like Prime.
So you want to go with a guy who has never been a head coach of any kind over a guy that has HC experience?
I mean dilly what has called plays maybe two years? There was talk he didn't call them here under Gus...

First order of business. What is taking so long to hire AD?
