There are too many candidates to list. Being a HC of a football team is the only qualifying thing he has. The fact he will run to FSU as soon as it opens should keep him off the list to start with.

It will be like last time. A list with 20 or 30 people and Harsin wasn't even on it. They will find someone with a good win% and ignore the competition or hire someone some how tied to Auburn no mater the win%.

Its nice to believe there's no way he wouldn't leave Auburn but that isn't even comparable to Deion leaving Auburn for FSU.

The great thing is coaches returning to their alma mater isn’t a thing. Coaches already have a legacy and history there. Why screw it up like Scott Frost did

Alright, I still want Dan Lanning but I think Mike Norvell would be a great selection. He’s done well turning that s hole around

Deion doesn't think that way. Listen to him talk. All he talks about is how he is a winner and basically stuck up on himself. What's he going to do when reality hits him and he see how tough the SEC is and then the next time? Gus had the same issue (though quieter) and tried to force his way to work. That's why he fails in random games. Deion hasn't faced anything that smooth talking a few recruits couldn't fix and is very unproven.

Kiffin and Freeze would be my top two. They are better picks and more qualified than Sanders

Probably call Aranda and Rhule before Sanders too

All of those folks have coached at hire levels, recruited more, and been successful in the college ranks

I don’t think Dave Aranda is realistic, mainly due to his buyout.

We could get Kenny Dillingham, who has coached under Lanning, Norvell, and Malzahn!

Freeze
Keep that Bible thumping, prostitute banging, rape victim texting, creep to high school girls far away from AU.

On top of being a very average coach, he can’t be trusted to be alone with under age girls.

Have some standards.

People laugh at Dillingham because he was a Malzahn puppet for a year but he could end up being a great coach lol.

If we aren't going after a "homerun" hire like Kiffin/Aranda/Rhule, I'd much rather hire Dilly and give him a chance to grow into the job rather than hire a retread like Freezus or or a totally unproven guy like Prime.

IMHO he's got more upside than Grimes or Lashlee, with essentially the same amount of experience.

Hard pass on Dilly. I don't think he could go toe to toe in living rooms with Saban Kirby Jimbo Kelly etc. Would be easy as frick to negative recruit against.

Lanning would probably make a good coach but the ink isn't even dry on his contract yet plus he'll make hella money in 3-4 years if he keeps winning. Oregon will re-up him or someone will pay him 9mill a year.

The most logical still points to Kiffin. He wants out of Ole Miss. We can offer a longer more lucrative contract.

If he says no or has already said no then it's gonna be Grimes or Lashlee.

Some dark horse candidates nobody is talking about (and no i don't want them)

Dan Mullen
Manny Diaz
Jeff Lebby
Jamey Chadwell

ETA I don't think Freeze is possible yet and Aranda's contract knocks him out.

We could definitely do worse than Dilly. I think my main concern would be if he is ready for a big job like Auburn HC. We know he can develop a good offense and recruit very well. But would Auburn be too big for him? He hasn’t been HC anywhere yet.

I think he’ll end up being a good one somewhere if he wants to do that.

Yeah I'm in agreement. Be bold and try to find a rising star if you can't land the big fish.
