I did. The article said Buckner is the #1 choice, but they're also looking at others including John Scott Jr ( Penn St DL coach) another one to watch according to the article is Eric Henderson who has spent the last 5 seasons in the NFL with the Chargers and Rams.

This would be a fantastic get. He was with the Raiders for only one year because Rod Marinelli became available when the Cowboys blew up that coaching staff in 2019. He quickly became a player and fan favorite that year and people were pretty pissed Gruden couldn’t find a spot for him. Gruden hired his old buddy and fired Buckner, but it wasn’t because of his performance. He was hired by Zona within hours of being let go. It wouldn’t surprise me if he became a DC in the near future…and maybe Harsin/Mason has a better plan for him than Dabo. He might want to learn under Mason instead of the no-name assistant Dabo promoted. He might like the program structure better…or a million other reasons. It would surprise me though to see him come here without believing there’s a path to being a coordinator. If Mason has plans of moving on at some point, promotion or otherwise, maybe he is sold on sliding into his role.

TLDR; he good, SEC fricked!

Al.com has a new reporter. Seems to be a pretty charismatic guy. Maybe first black guy to cover Auburn. So far he writes like he wants to write for Auburn fans. He gives his 3 coaches to watch. You should just read the article now and see what he’s about.

One NFL guy who was already publicly named elsewhere and two Auburn grads who's names ALWAYS come up every time we have a DL opening. I don't buy Brumbaugh or Simpson with Harsin and Mason making this hire; I don't think either one cares about finding an AU alum, and they both seem to have NFL connections. I expect it to be none of those three and for it to be someone with some sort of NFL background.

Joel Erickson was a good Auburn beat writer. We need another good one that doesn’t stand ready to put Auburn on blast.

Bump. Nathan on 247 said UGA's DL coach Tray Scott is a name to watch said Harsin is talking to him but unclear how likely he's hired but he's a name to watch

Why would UGA's DL coach come to Auburn right now?

We were paying Eason a good bit more than he makes, I believe.
