The new On3 insider says no offers have been made. Says that if Auburn offers Kiffin, they expect him to accept. They then go on to say they don’t know about a timeline or how this coaching search will end

I actually feel like this is a pretty calm coaching search.
If it turns out to be Kiffin then it definitely is our calmest.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen us actually set our sights on one and go get him.

They have to say that. I am sure the SEC office would be pissed if a team offered another teams coach in season. I am sure we have talked interest with Sexton and money. Hoke clarified that they are still ironing out details on what the offer will look like, but if Auburn offers then Lane is going to accept it.
IMO it sounds like they are close to an agreement on finalizing what the contract will look like and barring a wild shift in what’s already been negotiated, Kiffin is gonna be the guy.
