I don’t know what theyre thinking but from guessing it would be when people go to the board and only see two new posts and they’re in the big threads, they just log off.
But if say you had a new thread titled “Auburn basketball sucks” or something. You’d probably click to call the guy an idiot.
Admittedly I don’t really go in the basketball thread that much unless it’s basketball season. But I’m interested in the Basketball team enough that if I saw a new topic I might click it. Just get disinterested a little bit because of the massive thread I haven’t kept up with.

Sounds like we still have game threads.
Just not season long threads like the Basketball one.
And like I said earlier, we already get spam threads on gameday

I’m just giving you the logic for why it might drive more clicks (which is obvious why the owner of the website would want that) and I actually think it’s better for me since I typically stay out of the big threads besides recruiting (which sounds like we’re keeping).
I’m not telling you to stop complaining or to like it. Do what you want.

To clarify, large threads are fine. What they are trying to avoid is having all encompassing threads that all news pertaining to a certain topic (like all basketball news for the entire year) is all in one thread. If there is new news or something noteworthy that comes up, for a new thread to be made for that new item.
Not saying I agree or disagree with the idea or if is better or worse, just clarifying the objective.

Why, are they getting heat from Shannon Terry et al on bringing paid for content to TD? Can we have individual recruit threads like VolNation and drop recruit specific info of each of those?

Why don't they just add a tag called "HOT" meaning > x# replies in y timeframe to do the same and leave content in one place?

I get what you are saying, but honestly I tend to not look at a lot of the new threads on the rant because so many of them are crap.
Burying good threads while dumb new ones keep dropping the better threads doesn't strike me as a great way to keep consistent readers.
But hey I am old and there is a lot of stuff I don't understand.

Haha yep, and we at least try and monitor that as best as possible before letting someone random in with no post history as everyone here wants this to stay strictly Auburn, unlike some of the other boards.

The Final Four Season Long Thread is Auburn rant at its mountain top now that it can no longer be replaced. Maybe Chicken can sell us pages of ownership from that storied season since he is pinching for pennies and a poors.
